At Kyoto Sumo Club, enjoy sumo history and culture with an authentic sumo-style meal and All-You-Can-Eat & All-You-Can-Drink. At the beginning, delight in a traditional Japanese dance performed by geisha in elegant kimono, setting the tone before the sumo show begins. The show begins with a traditional geisha dance, followed by live demonstrations of exercises, techniques, and sumo etiquette. Then, watch a best-of-three match between retired sumo wrestlers. You can also step into the ring and challenge a wrestler ※Challenger spots are limited; if there are too many applicants, participants will be chosen by lottery ※This is a fun, family-friendly show, not a real training session or tournament All guests receive a souvenir gift bag as a keepsake of their sumo experience. "Dec. 03 2025 New OPEN!!!" The wildly popular Asakusa Sumo Club in Tokyo's Asakusa district opens its first sumo show restaurant in the heart of Kyoto!!!! Immerse yourself in the world of sumo wrestling at the Kyoto Sumo Club. Begin with a traditional Japanese dance performed by a geisha in an elegant kimono, setting the tone for the sumo show. Watch live demonstrations of morning exercises, learn classic sumo techniques, and discover the essential do’s and don’ts of sumo wrestling. Then, enjoy a best-of-three match between retired professional sumo wrestlers. Step into the ring and challenge one of the sumo wrestlers. Challenger spots are limited per show. If there are too many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery. Enjoy an all-you-can-eat meal with Chanko-nabe (chicken hot pot), a traditional sumo-style dish. After the show, take home a souvenir gift bag, a perfect memory of your sumo experience.

- Please note that the Sumo Show is different from a serious morning practice tour or a sumo tournament. It is designed as a fun, family-friendly entertainment experience for both adults and children.
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the show starts.
- The number of challengers for the Sumo Challenge is limited. If there are many applicants, participants will be selected by lottery.
- Vegetarian and vegan meals are available upon request, but must be reserved at least 2 days in advance.
- If your friends or family booked separately, please add their name or booking number in the comments. Please arrive together if possible so we can try to seat you in the same area
- Please inform us in advance if your group includes two or more infants under 2 years old.
- Infants aged 0–1 years can join free of charge for the Sumo Show.

Great entertainment and fun. Engaging for the whole family. Learnt a lot about sumo. Food ok. More than enough to drink.
Our family had a blast at this live show. The all you can eat and drink dinner was great: the hot pot was tasty and they had a good selection of drinks to choose from. The Sumo exercise/rules/skill demonstrations and the action fight was very enjoyable. The wrestlers have a good sense of humor and were very funny. Kids and adults all were having a great time; it was very good value for money, entertaining and informative. Highly recommend it.

I booked this show based on its excellent reviews, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. A significant portion of the experience consisted of explanations and tutorials about the rules and history of sumo wrestling, with very little actual wrestling. The sumo matches themselves lasted less than five minutes in total. While the all-you-can-eat meal was included, I still didn’t feel the overall experience justified the price. If you’re looking to watch an exciting sumo performance, this may not be the best value. I would recommend spending your money on a different experience. This has definitely been a highlight of our Japan trip! It is easy enough to find, you are welcomed by friendly reception staff and continue with the amazing hospitality all night. The food was incredible and free flow of drinks was a plus. The mic man did an amazing job and the sumo wrestlers are so entertaining, they even had dancers who were beautiful. My daughter was mesmerised.
