Worth the money. The tour was first rate and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend if you want more than standard tourist Kyoto.
It was just me and Indra the tour guide. Started off at the temple, he explained everything and any questions were answered. Walked me through the whole of Shinto shrine, we set a decent pace, but he kept checking to make sure the speed was good, I’m a big fan of hiking so enjoyed walking faster. After the shrine we took a back route out of the shrine through the forest and it was amazing! So quiet after the business of Kyoto, and so peaceful. There was a few more stops but I won’t spoil them but they are beautiful and proper hidden gems. We finished the tour a bit quicker then expected as we walked at a pretty decent pace but I prefer doing it that way. It’s not a hard hike but if you need to go slower think this would more then doable for most people. I enjoyed the walk and didn’t feel like we rushed or anything there was plenty of breaks and points of interest that Indra talked me through. This was a great tour, with an amazing guide who’s know some hidden gems! I would fully recommend anyone to do this tour!
Great early start to avoid the rush of visitors. Tour was a filled with great history and insights while getting off the beaten path for a good portion of the tour.
Really knowledgeable guide who spoke perfect English. I truly enjoyed exploring the back route of the shrines where we were able to enjoy nature!
Indra was an amazing tour guide! If you want to be more adventurous and see more sites and views, hiking is the best way! I was so happy with seeing so many different things!
