Best tour ever!!!

Such an incredible experience!! I highly recommend doing this. I was guided through the market and away from tourist traps and towards local stalls! Naoya was the best guide ever and made it so much fun. I learned a lot about the history of the Nishiki market.

Good guide makes good tour.

Our guide Naoya was great, he helped us understand the history and meaning of the place we were visiting. We were also very glad for the whole conversation not only about this place but also the general informations about Japan and Kyoto. We strongly recommend this tour with this guide and hope we will meet once again :)

Awesome kickstart to Kyoto

I was travelling solo and wasn’t sure how to explore Kyoto, so when I found this short tour around Nishiki Market, I thought I’d give it a try. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip! Our guide, Uta, was like a walking Wikipedia of Kyoto—and not just Kyoto, but Japan in general. She was incredibly knowledgeable, full of fascinating stories, and absolutely hilarious, which made the whole experience so engaging. By the end of the 1.5-hour tour, I had completely fallen in love with Kyoto. Thank you so much, Uta, for such a wonderful experience. I’ll definitely be back!

must do

We really enjoyed the walking tour in Kyoto. Our guide was very friendly and had great knowledge of the area. He gave us a very authentic tour of the place showing us some areas tourists might not always find. He was very interested in getting to know everyone on the tour and gave us some great places to check out in Kyoto. Would definitely recommend if you’re interested in getting know the area a bit better.

Amazing Food Tour with Great Local Insights

I have joined many tours before, but this was truly one of the best. The guide explained Japanese culture and the history of Kyoto in a very kind and clear way. Nishiki Market was crowded, and with so many options, I didn’t know where to go. But, every place the guide recommended was delicious, and the atmosphere of each shop was wonderful. I would love to join another tour in the future. Thank you so much for the great experience.

Amazing

It was an amazing tour. Without a guide, we wouldn’t have learned about the history of the market or known which shops were worth visiting. Exploring the market with our guide, Uta, made the whole experience truly memorable.

This was, without a doubt, the best tour I’ve ever been on! Our journey began at Nishiki Market, where we got to experience the rich culture and traditions of Kyoto. Every food recommendation from our guide was absolutely delicious, and I loved trying so many local specialties. Next, we visited Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine. Our guide explained the history and significance of Japanese shrines in such a clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand way that I learned a lot while having fun. We ended the tour with a walk through the beautiful streets of Pontocho Alley. The atmosphere was magical, especially with its traditional architecture and charming scenery. This tour was the perfect combination of history, culture, and amazing food. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making the entire experience unforgettable. A great tour of "Kyoto's kitchen"

Nishiki Market is known as "Kyoto's Kitchen," and it was so interesting to see so many shops lining the street. My favorites were definitely the yuba and dashimaki! Our guide was very knowledgeable—not only about the ingredients, but they also shared the deep history of this street with us. Highly recommended tour!
