Fushimi Inari is one of Kyoto's most iconic Shinto shrines, known for its thousands of vibrant red torii gates that form scenic pathways up the forested Mount Inari. Dedicated to Inari, the god of rice and prosperity, the shrine dates back to 711 AD.
Hanami-koji is a famous street in Kyoto's Gion district where you may have the chance to encounter geisha and maiko. Known for its traditional teahouses, historic ambiance, and wooden machiya houses, it offers a glimpse into Kyoto's elegant past and geisha culture.
Gion is Kyoto’s most famous geisha district, known for its traditional wooden machiya houses, teahouses, and preserved historic streets. It’s a place where visitors can experience the charm of old Kyoto and sometimes catch a glimpse of a geisha or maiko on their way to an evening engagement.
Yasui Konpira Shrine in Kyoto is known as one of Japan's most powerful shrines for severing bad relationships. Visitors come to the shrine to pray for the end of negative ties and to find new, positive connections.
Yasaka Pagoda(Hokanji temple) is one of the oldest wooden structures in Japan. Its overwhelming scale makes it hard to believe that it was built without using nails. It is undoubtedly a symbol of Kyoto.
Ninnen-zaka is a traditional stone-paved path lined with souvenir shops and restaurants housed in historic wooden buildings. Walking along this street feels like stepping back in time.
Nene no Michi in Kyoto is a charming path named after Nene, the wife of a powerful Japanese shogun. This serene route takes visitors past historic temples and offers a peaceful walk through Kyoto's cultural heritage, providing a glimpse into the city's rich history in a tranquil setting.

We had an amazing tour with Ikki. He is very well informed about all the places we visited and is easy to talk to. He took over a 100 photos throughout the tour, and I was especially happy with how he was able to capture so many moments where it looks like we are the only ones there. At the end of the tour Ikki also provided us with a list of restaurant recommendations and we’ve already been to two! All around great tour at a good pace that felt like we were walking around Kyoto with an old friend or acquaintance.
Our very first adventure as soon as we got to Kyoto! Ikki was our local guide and shared so much about all the places on tour, very well informed. He also took over a 100 photos throughout the tour, providing us with great family photos. Somehow they all look like we are the only ones there too! Nighttime tour was definitely the way to go as it was far less crowded than the daytime and cooler/less humid, Ikki also provided us some great restaurant recommendations in the area. Very happy I booked this tour and got an excellent guide.
We had the absolute pleasure of spending the evening with our tour guide Ikki Kataoka and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. From the moment we met, he was incredibly kind, warm and professional. His English was excellent, making communication effortless and allowing us to fully appreciate the history, culture, and stories behind each destination. He was born and raised in Kyoto and the pride and affection he has for city was reflected gracoiusly during the tour. What truly stood out was his genuine passion for sharing Japan with visitors. He was patient with all of our questions, attentive to our interests, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and memorable experience. At each site he took the most amazing pictures of our family. His thoughtful recommendations and local insights helped us discover places we never would have found on our own, including a delicious dinner spot with a gorgeous view. Not only was he knowledgeable, but he also had a wonderful personality—friendly, respectful, and easy to talk to throughout the entire tour. We felt welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, kind-hearted, and highly professional English-speaking guide in Japan, I cannot recommend him highly enough. We truly enjoyed our tour with Ikki and seeing some of Kyotos most iconic sites by night. Ikki spoke perfect English and was extremely personable as well as knowledgeable of the area and its history. We would highly recommend this tour!

Mariko did a fabulous job giving us the tour around! She was very polite and helpful. We had a lot of questions and she was very knowledgeable! She even sent us some suggestions on where to go and eat during the rest of our stay here in Kyoto! I would definitely recommend this tour and definitely ask for Mariko!!
