Overall the places we went were nice, but the tour guide was sweet but just didn’t teach much. It left lots of awkward pauses, the timing between meals was nearly always off, and I didn’t learn a lot about Kyoto.
Our guide Liz took the time to let us explore Gion and showed us around. It was a relaxed, welcoming and fun atmosphere. The food was also good.
Great chance to eat with great group of people and a fun night - thanks Mehrab.
Thanks Meh for a lovely evening trying interesting foods!
We had a fantastic time. Barbara was a superb, sweet and knowledgeable host. We learned so much about Japanese food, history and culture. She was also able to make adjustments for dietary accommodations. This tour my little food nerd heart very happy! I highly recommend. I don’t know if you can request specific guides, but if you can I equally highly recommend Barbara. This was the highlight of our trip to Kyoto. Oh, and definitely come hungry!!
I would be surprised if the food cost more than 15$ total. We went to three random cheap places, followed by an outside food stall for desert. The food was not great, and strongly underwhelming given the price of the tour. Moreover, the "local guide" was in fact a foreign student who’s been studying in Japan for 2 years.
We had a great experience with the tour! Sam was awesome as a guide. Explaning and giving brief history on the area and the place. Definitely worth recommending.
Sam was my guide, and she did a very good job! The tour was a good length of time, and a good amount of food for dinner
Sam was great and informational! We had a really good time!
Paris was an amazing host! Great food tour
