- 7+ mouth-watering Kyoto-style Japanese food tastings, enough for a full dinner meal, served from locally-owned restaurants (Menu may vary every time based on the fresh ingredients at the market). - 3 drinks as we taste local style dinner. You may also choose your drinks (Beer, sake & other drinks). Non-alcoholic beverages are also available. - Explore Kyoto, visiting popular spots as well as hidden gems. Enjoy the unique scenes of Nishiki Market, Pontocho, and Kiyamachi. *please let us know if there is any food restrictions about a week before the tour date. Vegetarian & vegan options are limited for this tour.

Itinerary
Nishiki Market is the traditional food market located in the downtown area in Kyoto. We will stop by 2-3 family owned shops to try sample-size food that represents the food culture and history in Kyoto.
We will visit 2-3 restaurants to try Kyoto style food ranging from Obanzai (Kyoto style cuisine) to local izakaya dishes.
We will walk through the Pontocho District which is a mini geisha district where we will learn the history of Kyoto and the geisha culture.

The 6 of us, ages 10 through 52, all had an amazing time. Sora was such a fantastic guide. He was thorough, personable, gave great explanations and history of the food. We learned a lot and had amazing food we otherwise would not have found on our own. It was a great decision to do this tour in Kyoto. It will be such a great memory for us all. Thank you, Sora. Soro gave us an incredible tour with a wide breadth of different foods. The dishes presented at 3 different restaurants was very approachable. We had 3 - 19 year olds in the group and they do fine. I was put off by the price but after the tour we actually had an incredible value. Great job great tour highly recommended.

So I was hesitant because of the $100 pp cost of the tour but believe me you get your money’s worth! Sora, was our guide he was super enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I would never had found the different restaurants and a a few tasty bites as well. The food was widely varied yet accessible. We had 3- 19 year olds on our tour and they did just fine. Highly recommend!
