Combined tickets are the best option.

We bought the combined tickets for the bird world, butterfly garden and koala gardens. Unless there is a queue or had to wait for the photo with koala time, it won't take long to cover both places. My daughter wanted to get her photos done with the koala, and we didn't have to wait long for that. It was so nice to see koalas and kangaroos up close here. When we went to the bird world we were asked to cover all our jewelleries with sticky tape. We didn't realise the reason behind it until we saw how aggressive some of the birds were. The butterfly world was small and had loads of different species of butterflies. We covered all 3 places under 2 hrs. Definitely worth buying the combined ticket rather than individual tickets for each attraction.

Interesting and fun

Petting the koala was cool. Liked feeding the kangaroos. Bird sanctuary was good. Watch out bc one of the parrots was biting people! Butterfly section was okay; didn’t spend much time in that one.

Kuranda VIP package is the ultimate experience

We enjoyed our Kuranda by Design experience very much. It was great to be the first visitor to birdworld in the morning and to feed the various kinds of parrots. It literally just took a few seconds until the first Macaws sat on our shoulders. After the guided tour through birdworld, we continued to the Koala Gardens on another guided tour. We were allowed to pet a snake and a blue-tongue lizard. And of course a photo with a Koala named Sebastian was included as well. After this fantastic experience, we returned to birdworld to spend some more time there. Later in the afternoon, we went to the Koala Gardens once more. When the other tourists left, we could again spend some time with the Kangaroos, Wallabies and Pademelons and even saw some with Joeys in their pouch. Definitively recommend this exclusive experience. And once more a big thank you to the fantastic team at birdworld and Koala Gardens.

Kuranda is not mobility accessible

So many lies about being accessible. The "easy" 1.2km walk from the railway station is uphill all the way. The koala and birdworld are down a hill too steep to meet ADA standards with no disable parking. The koala "sanctuary" isn't wheelchair friendly. The birdworld forces wheelchairs to stay at the entrance platform and is a steep hill for those that walk. The butterfly sanctuary is also inaccessible to wheelchairs as the walkways are undulating, uneven and narrow. The rude response from the ticket sales woman when I said it isn't accessible was "it is accessible, who isn't it accessible to?" My response was anyone who can't walk more than 50 meters and especially with that sloped path being the only way in. There is no bus, there are no taxis so if you can't walk over a kilometre up hill you'll be stuck at the train station. The skyrail was great but if you need a wheelchair you'll need to be able to walk to step into the gondola and have a folding chair. So if you're going to Kuranda know the town isn't accessible friendly. Our trip to Kuranda on the railway (excellent, wheelchair accessible friendly and worth the effort) was saved only by Max from 1300 Rideshare when we got to the town.

Fun time feeding animals!

We had a great time at Kuranda koala gardens, Birdworld and the Butterfly Sanctuary. We really enjoyed feeding the animals and taking our photo with the Koala (Paul). Only thing that would have made it better is if we could also have actually held him rather than just pat his backside side. We also did not plan transportation properly and so had to get to kuranda by uber which cost 55. Than on the return taxis were not available and Ubers would not come. Bus was also full. We eventually leaned of a rideshare service who finally agreed to get us and the return back cost 100. So my advice is make sure you either have a car or reserved ride there and back if you don’t take the train or skyrail. But had a great time other than the transportation issue and highly recommend a visit to Kuranda !

Kuranda Railway, Koala Garden

Koala Garden was a great place to photograph koalas. It was just a shame I couldn't hold him. The kangaroos were also fed free and conscientious.

Aussie animals at close quarters.

Excellent viewing of a lot of the Aussie animals, birds and butterflies! Encounter with a koala was precious. Can be done in about 2-3 hours and then enjoy a very quaint village in the rainforest.

Great fun

I loved my visit to the Koala Gardens! There were so many animals and reptiles to see; I was lucky enough to get a koala cuddling photo with little Kiki which was so fun! The staff were so pleasant and spammed my phone with photos of myself and Kiki, as well as taking a professional photo for me. I loved being able to interact with the wallabies and hand feed them.
