Itinerary
With your skip-the-line ticket and an expert local guide, you’ll explore nearly 4,000 square meters of underground paths, merchant stalls, and archaeological remains. Multimedia installations—holograms, touchscreens, and films—recreate the bustle of medieval Kraków, from merchants’ calls to the creak of carts. Highlights include reconstructions of 11th-century burials, traces of ancient streets, and unique artifacts that illustrate Kraków’s role as a thriving trade hub. You’ll also see how daily life was shaped by craftsmen, merchants, and travelers passing through one of Central Europe’s busiest markets. Your guide enriches the journey with stories about commerce, religion, and the turbulent history revealed during excavations. The tour lasts around 1.5 hours. For groups of 15 or more, headsets are provided so everyone can clearly hear the commentary.
When you return to the surface, the Main Square—with St. Mary’s Basilica and the Cloth Hall towering above—will feel different, transformed by the hidden history you’ve just explored. Centuries of life, trade, and tradition hidden beneath your feet now come alive, leaving you with a deeper understanding of the city at its very heart.

A definite must while in Krakaw. The archeological dig in 2005 (i estimate) resulted in an amazing learning experience. Go!
We went on the schindlers story and Ghetto walking tour. Olga our guide made our experience she was absolutely fantastic. We both agree this is the best thing we have done in Krakow and was so worth the money. Couldn’t recommend Olga and this tour anymore! Thank you!
Olga was wonderful I was the only one on the tour so I’m so thankful it wasn’t canceled not canceled. Olga was knowledgeable about the site and surrounding areas. We were caught in a heavy downpour but Olga still took me to my bus stop and waited for me to get on before braving the rain again to go to her destination
Punctual, the guide called us 5 minutes early; she had an excellent vocabulary and knew how to convey all her knowledge to us with enthusiasm.

The admission fee was worth every second and every fact the guide told us that wasn’t written anywhere during the tour. The lenght of the visit was pretty much perfect as it wasn’t too long and tiring and neither too short so we had an amazing time. The tour guide had a great knowledge about all the exhibitions, explained everything in detail, but didn’t make it boring at any point. The group size was perfect as we felt that we belonged in a group and we are not just on a private trip. I would definately reccomend it to friends and family.
Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your visit and that the tour provided you with valuable insights and fascinating facts beyond what can be found in the exhibitions themselves. It is great to know that the duration, group size, and pace of the tour were just right for you, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed. We are especially happy that our guide’s knowledge and engaging way of presenting the history made the visit both informative and enjoyable. Thank you for recommending us to your friends and family. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Kraków for another memorable experience! Best regards, Mateusz

The tour guide was talking too fast not talking about crucial information: why we were there, why and how did that happen that the level is so different today and 600 or 700 years ago, nothing about this museum is all about.
