Koh Ma Half Day Snorkeling From Lanta

The only good part of this trip was the hotel pickup,it sadly went down hill from there ,my wife had mobility problems and found in challenging get into the long tailed boat with only a couple of metal stairs. After 50 mins we got to the snorkelling island ,where the short set of stairs proved a problem for my wife ability to get in the water. We then had one hour journey back ,but we were dropped 5km past where we got on. When then had to wait for our transport back to our hotels Solution to this prom get a longer set of snorkelling stairs that has at least 6 rungs

Our hotel pickup was fine,but it rapidly went down hill from there,my wife mobility problems and found it very hard to get onboard, it took us 50 mins to get to the island ,because the steps were so short we did not get in the water, on the way back we traveled 5km past our drop off point and had to wait some time for our transport back to the hotel How to make this trip better get a much longer set of steps so all people can get in and out of the water safely

We were only two couples on the boat. It takes 40 minutes to get to Koh Ma (island west of Koh Lanta) by longtail boat. Two pleasant snorkeling spots with a variety of fish. The weather conditions were ideal. We have been the only boat almost all the time. Transport can be provided by the operator throughout Koh Lanta contrary to the instructions on the Viator website. The departure of the boat trip is at the Sea and Soul restaurant (west of the port) contrary to the first indications (please check if you go there on your own). The pace of the excursion was perfect and the crew very cool. We recommend this outing to those who want to avoid mass tourism.

Disappointingly, there was a general feeling among all participants that there was neither control on which tour one was part of or how long it was set as well as where. The trip consisted of two teams, a half-day team and a full-day team so many were in doubt, this this we found out of. The guide spoke very poor English and tried to joke out of things - but generally poor overview. It was ok snorkeling, but it was generally grey and boring, without you knowing what you were looking for.

We had a nice half-day snorkeling trip to Koh Ma from Koh Lanta. The crew provided cold water and fresh watermelon after our first stop. We saw a nice variety of beautiful fish. We liked that it was not a party boat. There were just 10 people in our trip, plus crew. The only negative was lack of communication about our drop-off point, which was not a huge issue, it just left us confused and wondering where we would end up. They did provide transport to/from our hotel. Overall very good.
