- The morning tour (6:30 AM or 7:00 AM) is our most recommended tour due to calmer ocean conditions and more wildlife sightings.
- Raft tours will include seeing and possibly entering sea caves and snorkeling, but only if the ocean conditions are safe enough to do so. Your tour’s Captain will make this decision. (We do not snorkel in the sea caves.)
- We recommend booking early in your vacation in case of a weather cancellation, you have more time left in your vacation to rebook.
- Our tour departs from the west side of Kauai— We meet in Waimea at the Na Pali Riders office. Check in is 45 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
- When ocean conditions are not favorable for a Na Pali Coast tour or the minimum passenger count for the safety and stability of our vessel is not met, you will be offered the following: The option to rebook for a different date and time. The option for a full refund.
- You CANNOT attend if you are pregnant
- WARNING: The Zodiac© raft makes for a wild and rough ride. Due to the nature of the Nā Pali Ocean Raft Tour, you must be in good physical condition to attend this tour. We cannot accommodate pregnant women, anyone with back or neck problems, medical conditions or recent surgeries.
- Non-swimmers are prohibited from snorkeling.

Wonderful! So fun on the boat, incredible views, friendly guides. Not clear enough to snorkel so we stopped to swim in the “deep blue” at the most beautiful vista. Stopped for about 5-10 minutes surrounded by 300+ dolphins!
We had the most amazing day on the water. Saw spinner dolphins and explored the untamed coast and sea caves.
This was the highlight of our vacation! Mac and Cassie were an incredible crew! They were fun, informative, personable, and attentive. During the snorkeling stop, one of my boys did not want to get in the water, and Captain Mac kept him entertained and busy (feeding the fish for the snorkelers) while we were in the water. I was nervous that the Sea Biscuit would feel cramped with so many people, but it was perfectly comfortable! The music was a nice touch and the playlist was bomber! We were fortunate to not have any clouds or fog obscuring our view of the Na Pali coast, but even if we did, I’m sure we would have had a blast anyway.

We chose this excursion as part of our two day visit in Kauai with the Norwegian cruise through Hawaii. It was amazing! We had so much fun on the zodiac boat. The ride was very exciting and we got to get up close to shore and sea caves. We saw dolphin, turtles, and a seal from the boat. The coastline was beautiful from the ocean side. Snorkeling was a blast as well. From a logistics standpoint, we rented a car from the Lihue airport and drove 20 miles to the check in. We chose the 11 am boat trip which allowed us to drop off the car and get back to the boat by 4pm. Perfect Day!!!! Definitely a highlight for my teenagers who loved the thrill of the boat ride.
Our favorite excursion we did on vacation! Captain Mak and Tom were awesome and taught us about the history and geology of the area. Would 110% recommend if you are looking for an adventure.
An absolute adventure that we didn't expect, but SO glad that we experienced! The staff kept us all entertained and my children had smiles on their faces throughout the entire duration! The music mixed into a beautiful harmony with our laughter! 10/10, would ride again!
One of our more pricey activities in Hawaii, but worth it for once in a lifetime views of Na Pali. And do not underestimate that this is an adventure tour. It's also a 1-boat family run business with an owner & captain who's been doing it for 10 years, so please support. All three guides on our trip were fun, friendly, and knowledgeable of all the facts & features about the Na Pali Coast and surrounding areas. Along the way we saw a sea turtle, multiple pods of spinner dolphins, and tropical fish while snorkeling. A couple of key points: - The boat ride is fast and bumpy. Me and my older daughter sat at the front of the boat. It is awesome, but trust me that you need to hold onto the ropes 100% of the time up there or...man overboard. - Recommend motion sickness meds even if you are occasionally susceptible. - Go early when the surf is light. It's also much better for the snorkeling part of the trip. - If it's possible for your timing, go at low tide. They will be able to enter more caves overall and go deeper into them. Super cool! -
We had am amazing trip, and this was hands down one of the best excursion activities we have ever been on. We traveled with a 9 year old, and they had a blast also. The boat crew was incredibly friendly and did a great job explaining the area/giving us local perspective and history. The zodiac boat is fast and the ride is quite bumpy, but they had options of boat locations to accommodate any concerns and we would 100% recommend this option if you don't have any physical limitations. If we are in the area again, we will absolutely do this same trip with the same company.
