Departs from Penneshaw Only. NOT for guests arriving on the Sealink Ferry. TRAVEL INSURANCE is highly recommended. From time to time the captain may cancel the tenders from coming in due to severe weather. In this event, due to the expenses involved in preparing for the cruise ship tours, we do NOT offer a refund. Please compare travel insurance policies, some will cover cancellation costs due to severe weather, others may not, also check the excess. If you purchase the Cruise Ship companies travel insurance, they will not cover external tours. Pls contact us for travel insurance options.

Enjoy some honey tastings, learning about the Ligurian Bee and wondering around the gift shop.
Learn about the history of the distillery and the distillation process, try some eucalyptus drops, wonder around the gift shop and try some ciders.
Visit the Lavender Farm for a morning tea stop where you will enjoy a Lavender Scone and Tea/Coffee. Wonder around the grounds and gift shop.
Visit Kingscote where we will allow you an hour of leisure time to wonder around, visit a cafe and have some lunch or browse the shops.
Visit this vineyard that overlooks the Bay of Shoals and relax while tasting some wines.
Enjoy tasting gins, vodkas and liqueurs at this rustic gin distillery.

Please note that due to construction at the terminal, the Council has requested that we avoid parking at the ferry terminal. We will be parked on North Terrace, which is straight ahead of the Sealink Terminal. There will be information staff there to help and point you in the right direction. As there is a slight hill, for those that have difficulty walking or anyone else, there will be a shuttle operated by the Kangaroo Island Tourism Body that will be shuttling guests up to our buses from 08:30am onwards. Please try and be on a tender as early as possible as we do have a deadline with departure times as per below: Tasting Tour - 08:30am - 09:00am. (Times may vary depending on time of first and last tenders coming across from Cruise Ship) We do receive an email from the Captains office 24 hours prior to the ship arriving, notifying us of the times of the 1st and last tender and we work in with that. We aim to depart 1 hour to 1.5 hours after the 1st tender. If the last tender is 5:00pm then we have you back by 4:30pm. If it's 5:30pm, we aim to be back by 5:00pm but most of the time we are back by 4:30pm. Please also note that if your cruise ship is arriving late and leaving early, we will have to alter the itinerary. - Ship doesn’t dock or tender is cancelled: No refund without Trip Protection. Trip Protection available on request For total peace of mind, we recommend adding Trip Protection when you book. Trip Protection includes: Full refund of tour cost (minus admin fee per person) even if your cruise ship skips the port or tenders are cancelled Valid for any reason — weather, illness, delays, etc. “We missed our Kangaroo Island stop due to weather. Alternatively, TRAVEL INSURANCE - We HIGHLY recommend travel insurance It is the sole responsibilty of each individual to ensure they have travel insurance that covers cancellation fees of tours. If your cruise ship does not dock or tender and notice is given within that 24 hour period, our tours are non-refundable. You will be given a 50% credit to be used towards another tour at a later date and a letter for a travel insurance claim. A lot of expenses are incurred within this period for us and we have to prepay services that are non refundable such as bringing buses over from Adelaide, which is only done for cruise ship tours, catering for lunches, ferry costs, and wages. We understand that when a cruise ship does not dock, it is out of the travellers control, likewise, it is out of our control and we have NOT cancelled the tour and you will be viewed as a NO SHOW. Kangaroo Island Trails is NOT liable for your financial loss if you choose not to have travel insurance or Trip Protection.

We had a fun day with Caitlin she was passionate about her job good sense of humour. The scones at the lavender farm were huge. The winery we went to had great wine , loved the gin distillery and had a great burger there. The cidery was an interesting place and saw kangaroos up close

I’d give this tour ten stars if I could. One of the best we’ve ever taken. Kaitlyn was wonderful, fun, full of information, and eager to show us all an unforgettable day. Besides all the scheduled stops, seeing the wild kangaroos and koalas made our tour perfect!

We have had a terrible experience dealing with Kangaroo Island Trails. Our ship captain announced on the 6th of March that due to poor weather, we would not be visiting Kangaroo Island the following day. I notified Kangaroo Island within 10 minutes of this announcement, however they have refused to provide any refund at all. The customer service has been very poor. I have sent numerous emails and messages in which they did not acknowledge at all. I can still not believe that this company would not offer any refund at all on over $400, where there only reason we did not do the 'Ship shore excursion' was because our ship did not go to Kangaroo Island.

We can confirm and have comprehensive records of responding to you, offering substantial vouchers and fully supporting travel insurance claims. Not to mention, clear correspondence prior to the tour, encouraging travel insurance that caters to cruise ship excursions. We have laid out to you the extent of our expenses and why a policy within 24 hours exists. It is disappointing that you have avoided trying to be reasonable with this, but rather pass much blame with aggression. We are confident and reassured by our rating and feedback statistics. We do hope that you consider insurance and research appropriate covers for your next adventure. It will make all the difference to small communities and family run businesses. I do empathise with consumers that haven't received what they pay for, hence our strong encouragement for insurance beforehand and offers of credit which are a courtesy. What a great day with Kaitlin! We made every stop on the itinerary with enough time to taste and explore and shop. She made it clear we would return to our cruise ship in plenty of time which we did. We had so much fun tasting lavender scones (amazing!), honey, wine, gin, cider and learning how they are produced. I would definitely recommend this excursion!

Excellent excursion. Our guide showed us many beautiful areas and we got to see animals in the wild. I even got to feed a Joey at a wildlife refuge. Learned so much about the area. Grateful we chose this trip!

This was the best excursion, I loved everything about it. Our driver Darrin (aka Mac) was excellent and when I said I had yet to see a kangaroo in Australia he made my dream come true. We took an off beat route and found some in the wild and stopped at a brewery that had a rescue Joey I was able to get up close and personal with!

Because the tour was busy, my wife and I were fortunate to have a semi-private tour of Kangaroo Island with another couple in a SUV rather than the larger bus. Our guide Darren i.e. "Mad Max" was excellent. He took us on some extra stops in addition to the usual itinerary. We were able to see multiple kangaroo in the wild. He provided some interesting information and great stories about the island. The scenery was great. We enjoyed stopping at the wine cellars and brewery. My wife particularly enjoyed getting to feed a baby kangaroo with a milk bottle at the lavender farm. Overall we had a fantastic and memorable experience. Would highly recommend; request Darren for your guide.
