We toured Sri Lanka with Dinusha. It was very impressive. Our guide was always very friendly, helpful and designed us an all-round nice holiday. We have seen and done a lot and Dinusha has led us to beautiful places that you would probably never have discovered on your own. The excursions were very varied – from cultural highlights to impressive nature to small insider tips off the tourist trails. It was especially nice that he always responded to our wishes and organized everything perfectly. I can only recommend this tour and our guide.

Train is the way to go. Downside is lateness, information at stations and booking ticket through agent. Once these problems are dealt with or put behind you. The trip back to Colombo was fine. Trip to Kandy was much easier and slower travelling through the most scenic parts.
Tickets were delivered to my hotel on the day of the trip. I bought a second class at Colombo Fort Station myself and stood cheek to jowl all the way from Colombo to Bentota, no seat, no aircon. I was very relieved to find both a numbered seat and aircon. The same company organised a trip to Sigiriya for me which was excellent.

Company was terrible to deal with. Get 1st class reserved if at all possible. 3rd class reserved seating doesn't really exist. It's first come first served and no one moves. This company was difficult and unhelpful and I've asked Viator to not use them anymore.
