I think any trip to kakadu from Darwin is going to be a long trip. 3 hours to the park. A long time on the bus but worth it. Our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable, had lots of stories. Tok extra stops of he noticed something interesting on the road. Bowalii not really worth the stop but the walk with the cave paintings made the long trip extremely worth it. The view at the top of the walk is amazing.

The hike through Ubirr was fantastic - Indigenous rock art on many of the huge rock faces and caves. The view at the top of the rock is incredible, following a climb up many uneven rock steps. Highlights were the jumping croc cruise and Ubirr rock art. The cruise was a lot of fun, seeing crocs in their own environment was fantastic. Watching the kites being fed was an unexpected bonus! The rock art at Ubirr was amazing! The stories they must hold over such a long history. Our thanks to the Aboriginal peoples of this Country for allowing us to share this experience. Tim was a font of knowledge. It was a great way to travel listening to the facts and stories he imparted. There was a bit of climbing to see some of the rock art and the view of the flood plain.
