Went for the short walk, entrance fee of $12 which included a guide to walk us around. The guide was very informative and friendly. I was in a group of only 4 people which was nice as we were able to hear the guide and take time admiring the monkeys. Saw lots of monkeys, both the Blue Monkey and the Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey they were very peaceful and unbothered. It was overall a great experience and I would highly recommend.
Thanks for the review.
This tour was amazing, and Seif was the perfect guide. He knew so much about every aspect of the forest and answered questions amazingly. He was also great at spotting birds, lizards, squirrels, etc. that I would have otherwise missed, and he shared so many personal stories about many aspects of the forest. His ability to find both red and blue colobus monkeys was amazing and very much appreciated. This tour is a must-see, and I would recommend Seif for anybody! I was in Stone Town learning Swahili for work, and he even let me practice with him and taught me some new words - overall, this was an amazing tour with an amazing guide.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it .
We booked a Jazani Forest Tour with this company through Viator / Trip Advisor, paying upfront on the Viator website. On the evening before the trip we received a message from Seif Rashid Ali from Paradise Tours saying that we needed to cancel the Viator reservation and pay him in cash. We refused to do this so he said that he couldn’t take us. We were very unhappy that he was cancelling at late notice with no good reason and made clear that he needed to cancel with Viator and arrange a refund. On the morning of the trip he then claimed he was waiting for us although this didn’t stack up and, in any case, we had already made alternative arrangements. The behaviour of the business was very questionable, to put it mildly, and it created stress and inconvenience for us as we had to make alternative arrangements at very short notice. We really wouldn’t trust this company.
Firstly, I sent your money back ,why you wrote this review, and I did not do this tour with you ,and I told you that, I can not afford this activity today ,because I gotte problem, and I don't have a money now,so I gave your money back !where is my problem. All in all ,I see your aims, thanks very much.
The guide, Seif, was friendly and professional guy. He walked me through the traditional Zanzibari relationship with the rainforest, which was very interesting. He knows where the Red Colobus Monkeys are, it’s guaranteed!
Thanks for super review I really appreciate it, God bless you for everything .
Excellent tour. We saw the monkeys up close right away while they were relocating for their afternoon nap. Then we went on a walk through the forest and mangroves. My guide was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna.
Thank you for great review, God bless you very much.
The visit was pleasant. The Red Colobus Monkeys are the main attraction — an endemic species found only in Zanzibar, known for their reddish fur and their habit of moving through the treetops. They are very entertaining, well accustomed to visitors, and can be seen from very close range. We also explored the mangroves. Although we didn’t do the longer tour, it was enough to get a good sense of the local biodiversity. The guide was also friendly and informative.
Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it.
We had great walk in the park with an experienced guide and saw lots of monkeys very close and wild forest. Afterwards we also experienced the mangroves. Tanzania hospitality is unfortunately not well developed, as we had to wait for almost 30min to start and there is no visitor center with background information.
Than you for the review.
Based on our visit we would recommend other travellers to avoid this trip. We booked a tour with a professional guide and it was terrible. All the tour guides turn up with their clients and just set off randomly hoping to see some monkeys. The staff at the Forest make no attempt to help the guides with where to spot monkeys. When we were there all the other visitors we passed were also having the same experience… essentially walking around farmers fields, getting hot & sweaty, while increasingly anxious guides hoped to accidentally find something worth seeing! We hardly saw any monkeys. We did see some snakes and our guide literally ran away looking terrified! On other similar trips the guides have worked together to establish the best places to view wildlife, this doesn’t happen at Jozani… I wish we had seen some reviews about this before we booked the trip as we could have used the time and money on some of the other wonderful things to do in amazing Zanzibar.
We actually watch the redycoloubus monkeys at this area, when were at their information, I told you that, I do not recommended you, if we see the others animal, despite of the redycoloubus monkeys, and I told you that, we have others ,but they are not close with people,so it is difficult to see them, but we have .....
I found this over rated . We went for a 5 minute walk through the forest saw a couple of monkeys . Then we had to get back in the car to travel a small distance to walk through to try and see a couple more . Nothing was explained by the guide to what was happening . We didn’t bother getting back in car to follow the final time . Luckily the guy who drove us to this area was great and explained a few things
This was not a true firstly, Secondly, I explained alot information of there, and there was a one customer moved to me so as listen my information, and he was not my tourist, my tourist was not a nicely ,also when I met with him ,I understood him quickly, also I told my driver about him sure.he was not good customer inshortly.
A friendly but primitive atmosphere. Well maintained forest with few butterflies and resting red back monkeys. A well knowledgeable guide “Thabet” who explained every detail during the tour. We paid $12 per person for a 40 mn tour. Mind your feet from some species of ants that can bite.
Thanks for great review firstly, secondly, we do not do it for 40 minutes only,we do it more then 40 minutes, you didn't want to walk very much, that's why ,we were walking this minutes. All in all,God bless you very much.
