Interesting, informative tour with Melanie who is very knowledgeable about the history and present day Jewish culture in Buenos Aires. On request, she also shared some relevant programs for a deeper dive.
Thanks for your review - Melanie is a wealth of knowledge!
My wife and I participated in the Jewish walking tour of Buenos Aires in early February 2026. Our tour guide was Melanie, a young inhabitant of Buenos Aires, whose knowledge of history and presentation were very impressive. Sha had answers for all the questions posed and her passion for her task was very evident. The tour is definitely a must do for anyone interested in matters relating to the history and vitality of the Jewish community of this city. The mix of Jewish and other people so evident in the streets as we walked is a testament to how societies can blend together in harmony. The final stop at the Libertad Synagogue and museum was the highlight of the tour. The Synagogue is a very fitting edifice to the beauty of such splendid architectural design. Thank you to Melanie and the team responsible for this wonderful experience. Dr Phillip and Mrs Doreen Zoldan, Australia.
She was very knowledgable and passionate in her presentation…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Melanie was great. Tour exceeded expectations. Glad we went with her. Saw more of synagogue than had we done it on our own.
Esteban is a fabulous guide to everything Jewish in Argentina and we really enjoyed how he wove in the history of Argentina into his Jewish Buenos Aires tour. We learned about the importance and centrality of AMIA not just to Jewish Argentines but to all residents. He also took us to the YIVO building, which was fascinating. The Jewish Museum and adjacent synagogue are beautiful and we spent plenty of time there, too. Whether or not you’re Jewish, if you only have time for one tour in BA, you should take this one!
Thank you for your kind words, we're beyond happy to be able to show our culture with the world
This tour exceeded my expectations! It was supposed to be a group tour, but because that day I was the only person who signed up, I got a private walking tour with the delightful, extremely knowledgeable Melanie Vindman. Buenos Aires born and raised, Melanie taught me so much I did not know about the Jewish history of Buenos Aires. She made the tour and the information very engaging, and I had a wonderful time with her! (Melanie also speaks impeccable English; she knows the language better than most native English speakers. Impressive!) Highly recommend!!!
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate. We leaned so much about Jewish history in Argentina and the impressive response to antisemitism in Buenos Aires.
Thank you for exploring the city's Jewish Heritage with Lunfarda! We organize trips all over Argentina, and we look forward to seeing you next time around! :)
We loved our 3.5 hour walking tour with Melanie! She was informative, friendly, and insightful. We visited the Jewish Museum/Synagogue as well as the site of the 1990's terror attack and other Jewish sites in Buenos Aires, including a former theater and newspaper. My only constructive criticism is the tour ran a bit over time-wise, and 4 hours and 20 minutes was a bit much for my 11 year old daughter, especially since only the Jewish Museum had restrooms. I think it'd be nice to break up the walking by visiting a Jewish-owned cafe to discuss some of the things Melanie told us about, which would give our feet a rest and allow for an additional bathroom break. But overall the tour was excellent and we highly recommend Melanie!
Thanks!
Fernando was a fantastic guide with deep knowledge of the subject matter. In addition, as a local to Buenos Aires, Fernando was able to answer any questions I had beyond the specific subject matter that related to Argentinian subject. I highly recommend!
Fer is the GOAT! Thank you for your review! :)
We had the pleasure of doing the Buenos Aires Jewish walking tour 12/30/2024 with Melanie of Lunfarda. This was an excellent choice as we considered going to the Jewish Museum only, that would have been a mistake as the information we learned on the tour was far in excess of the museum, more detailed and interesting. Melanie has an excellent perspective and wealth of knowledge as she grew up in BA and attended both public and private schools as well as university. She put into perspective the remote Jewish and general Argentinian past and more recent history up to present day including the complicated political narrative and what it is like being a young Jewish person in this community. We did walk through more heavily Jewish neighborhoods and stopped at the AMIA building and Israeli Embassy bombing memorial with discussion about delayed- and non-prosecution of suspects and their Middle Eastern and Argentinian origins. Very well worth the time and cost, would recommend Melanie as a tour guide without hesitation, she was very nice and extremely informative.
We appreciate your detailed review! The museum is fabulous but it certainly glosses over major arcs of the Argentine-Jewish experience which is why we created this tour and we're so proud to have guides like Melanie that bring the community and our stories to life so well! We hope to see you again in Argentina soon for more touring :)
