Itinerary
Fully-guided tours showcase the breathtaking magnitude of Jewel Cave. You will see towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and intricate decorations stretching and suspended across the ceiling, like vines and dancing cobwebs. From stalagmites to flowstone, shawls, helictites and even ‘cave coral’; this cave tour reveals the most amazing variety of cave formations or ‘speleothems’. Once you see the ‘natural entrance’ to this cave, the means of entry for the intrepid cave explorers of the 1950’s, you will appreciate the incredible task they faced in opening up this spectacular cave to the public. You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct ‘Tasmanian Tigers’ that fell into the cave and met a dark and lonely fate. At the end of your tour, your awe-inspiring crystal journey is perfectly complemented with the option of the self-guided ‘Karri Walk’ through the towering forest giants, and viewing the ‘natural entrance’ from above the cave. The Jewel Cave Centre is complete with interpretive area, retail and café facilities.

We had a very good experience with our tour guide, Sally? Shared a lot of information about the cave, and also bought some jokes. Good humour into the your. Would definitely recommend Jewel Caves.
Great tour thiuroly enjoyed it... My wife thought there was a lift so we went... I suffer from COPD. The climb back up the 30 metre high stairs had me knackered... OK if your fit... you will love it...
If it is cold, do not take a coat down the cave as it warm & you will be hot by the time you reach the top again
A world-class experience. Fantastic “natural wonder” and guided tour A1 in every way. Recommend this to everyone - guess you won’t know what you’ve missed if you don’t do it but, trust me, you’ll be sorry if you don’t do it. Booking in is essential.
The tour was well organised and safe for my family and other members. My family and I really enjoyed the knowledge of the tour.
Loved this guided tour where the wonders spoke for themselves. Our guide was knowledgeable and the cave structure spectacular
Great experience and spectacular cave. Easy walking. Guide was funny and informative.
What a fantastic tour. Tour guide was so knowledgeable and answered all questions asked. There are 500 steps but very doable as they are well spaced throughout. Magical light show and when they turn the lights out, it’s surreal.
Wonderful tour and experience- not to be missed. A stunning treasure - really enjoyed it and highly recommended!
The tour down into the cave has a lot of stairs and higher than normal levels of CO2. The deepest point underground is about 42m
