Jeep Safari 4x4 Crete real off road mountain tracks with Lunch from Hersonissos
Description
You are the whole day, with your local guide, inside the countryside of Crete. The roads are almost all off road, the chance to see the real inland of Crete! We drive through the mountains towards the grape yards of the wine areas, passing small villages, through a river bed, sheltered by bamboo, a lot of nature. Crossing the river where we may have some water flowing in the months April, May and again from half of September. One of the highlights is a visit of a cave. We stop in a very authentic mountain village, on the square next to the church, for a coffee. We continue our trip along several small villages, on dirt tracks and through the green nature and herbs, passing olive groves and grape fields. We stop for lunch in a very small mountain village with a spectacular beautiful view. After lunch we drive through a mountainous area. Itinerary
Meet your group and guide who gives you the info about the day and the driving rules, and indicate your jeep. We leave around 9 am. Around 4 pm we arrive back here.
We visit a special cave with a 'holy' meaning. Good walking shoes are necessary.
This small mountain village is the ideal place for a stop. On the village square, next to the church, we can use the toilets and have a drink at a traditional taverna.
We cross a gorge driving off road.
We pass at the Aposelemis Dam to see this 'sunken' mountain village.
We have a local lunch in a very idyllic small mountain village.
On the way down we see a magnificent view of the north coast of Crete.

- POSSIBILITY DRIVING the jeep: min 21 years old AND min 3 years driving license AND min 3 years MANUAL driving experience AND in the last year NOT only driven an automatic car. Travelers with a driving License from countries driving at the right side of the car, are not allowed by insurance to drive. We are not a driving school, so only responsible drivers! Comfortable shoes, no flip flops. ABSOLUTE ALCOHOL BAN for drivers.

A top-notch day discovering Crete! The guide is full of energy and passionate about what he does. We were able to visit several sites (cave-chapel-villages etc....) far from the island's dream beaches. The mountain scenery is magnificent and the route is breathtaking. BRAVO and THANK YOU

A superb day in a jeep. A ride along the ridge paths, magnificent view, visit to an olive oil factory, lunch in a small Cretan village. Highly recommended +++ An excellent French guide. 😁

A very nice experience. This is how you discover the real Crete. Great guidance from Gijs and Tanya. Very enthusiastic people with a lot of humor. Definitely recommended for those who want to get to know the authentic Crete.

Disappointed, just a small 4X4 to share among four people; given the number of vehicles available, it would be wise to allow only 2 people per vehicle instead of 4.
Merci pour votre commentaire. Vous résevez des places comme c'est fait pour toutes les excursions. Le type de 4x4 est toujours le même et il peut accueillir quatre personnes. Si des clienst préférent ne pas partager le 4x4, ils pouvent opter pour une jeep privée (payante). Seul l'organisateur de l'excursion sait si d'autres véhicules sont disponibles, pas les clients. Nous espérons que vous avez comme-mème passé une bonne journée.
Lovely trip in the mountains, with 6 'new' Dutch friends and our extremely knowledgable guide Sotiris. Beautiful views, plenty of stops to take it all in. Cheese making was educational. Lunch at Zorba's was delightful, and learned so much of the history and culture of the island. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We chose the jeep safari, there were four of us. Truly, both of us were amazed by this wild ridge far from the large hotels. Thank you to Taïna and Yves for showing us another side of the island in the heart of nature and mountain villages. Taïna and Yves taught us about the culture, the life of the Cretans, the history of the ridge, and their fauna and flora (and the scents!). The meal was simple but excellent. Thank you to Géraldine for the visit to her olive oil mill and for her explanations. If you pass by there, go for it, it's worth the detour! I am convinced...
