Amazing Japanese tea ceremony experience; very professional, courteous, knowledgeable staff who took us on tour of Japanese tea making culture & then photoshoot at Tokyo’s oldest shrine. I would highly recommend it.

The start time. We were a group of 5. Our start time was 10am. We arrived at 9:30 am and was not allowed in the store to browse before our start time. Due to that, it resulted in our start time approx 12pm. The entire ceremony (including hair and makeup) lasted close to 3 hours.

Terrific experience!!!

This was a truly memorable experience. The experience of getting dressed in a kimono is unlike anything I’ve ever done. Learning the customs of the matcha tea ceremony was something I truly enjoyed. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who thinks they’d like this experience. I feel very fortunate. Be aware that the kimonos are made for people who are quite small compared to many westerners. I’m 5’8” and 158 lbs and felt quite big

Interesting, funny and simply beautiful tourist tip

We had a lot of fun at the tea ceremony. The mood was much looser, we read in advance expected. We were allowed to choose the kimonos ourselves at the beginning. We girls even got our hair done - that was surprisingly fast and was very pleasant. Everyone was very friendly. We had the ceremony with Kyoto-san, who explained everything for us in English and was so graceful when showing that we could have seen her touching the matcha forever. It was really a great experience. Clear recommendation for all tours. Note: The group should not be larger than 4 people. Then it might get too tight.

Lovely experience- matcha tea ceremony while dressed in kimono

This was an absolutely fabulous experience. Selecting and wearing a kimono - having a stylist fix my hair - and learning about the tea ceremony from Kyoko. Incredible. I had only a weekend in Tokyo and booked this weekend experience for the Monday morning when I was flying out. So I could only do the experience. I so wished that I had the extra hour to book the photo shoot that was an option later. I felt like a princess in the kimono and this deserved the professional photos!! That said. I really learned a lot and truly learned a lot. Thank you, Kyoko! I am now a matcha fan! (And bought a few bags duty free at the airport on my way home)
