Not that easy to attend. They send us to a restaurant by GPS. Good food, avoid the outdoor seating. Nice ambiance inside. Then, you have to figure out How to get to Santa Monaca. It is a 3 to 5 mins walk. Love the place but I think that the performers are over their heads. They interpret known composers but particular pieces that are not that popular. It is for the connoisseur of opera, not for the commons.
There was no, very disorganized we went to the informed restaurant (all right) but there was no one to inform the era to such of the opera
The invitation did not specify where dinner was or how the event was structured. When I arrived at the church, the doors were closed and some singing could be heard through them. We thought we missed the event by two by 1 minute, so we walked home. On the way home we discovered through app chat that dinner was first and it was at a place that was not informed in email. They allowed me to come to the event the next day but disallowed dinner.
This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves music and the arts!
Before the opera we went to eat. Not special on the outside. However, it was pleasant inside, good food and excellent service. Afterwards, at 9 pm we listened to two opera singers accompanied by a pianist. That was disappointing. It seemed like a competition to see who could sing the loudest (screaming...) and lacked passion and sensitivity. The pianist played too mechanically and seemed to be slamming the piano. The acoustics of the church made the music sound even louder and shriller. We sat through it.
We walked to this old church and listened to the wonderful voice of Laura Andreini, soprano. What a spectacular performance!!!
Good intention, but poor quality. Maybe we were unlucky the day we were there, but between the soprano, who seemed to have just woken up from a nap, and the singer (I'm not sure about the vocal range) who was out of tune at times, it seemed like a bit of a joke. The best is the pianist.
There were no clear instructions about dinner or the start time of the opera. We went to the restaurant and they did not give the full meal on the menu. The food was below average. We then went to the opera and there was no start time. There were no other instructions.
Great experience! Beautiful opera sung by experienced performers. Santa Maria church was a perfect venue with perfect acoustics.
Concert cancelled and we were not notified. Doors locked and no sign regarding cancellation was on door. Nearby shop owner says this happens a lot. We felt scammed.
