Enjoy a half-day trip to Italy from Monaco and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the unique markets of the Italian Riviera. Once you arrive, experience the hustle and bustle of the charming Italian markets. You may visit the city of San Remo (Tuesday and Saturday) and explore the typical open-air market at the seafront. Enjoy free time to discover the colorful market stalls offering a variety of Italian products, including cheese, fresh produce, authentic leather goods and clothes. San Remo overlooking the Ligurian Sea and is appreciated for its mild climate. These are also the Russians in the nineteenth century who chose this destination for the climate. Russian nobility stayed and the Empress of Austria's known as Sissi . It is during this period that began the construction of Art Nouveau villas that still exist today and it is beautiful that time was built the casino to entertain the nobility of yesteryear.
After a tour of San Remo (Tuesday and Saturday) or Ventimiglia, (Friday only), your half-day trip continues on the scenic road to the amazing authentic 12th century village of Dolceacqua ! You’ll be able to explore all the tinies streets, art galleries, souvenir shops, and the Castle. (Free time for lunch).

The medieval village is impressive as is the “Ponte Vecjhio”.The market at Sanremo, however., is disappointing..Rather dirty and filled with China knock offs. Our driver, Mack, did not go out of his way to point out ponts of interest and focused on chatting and in French with a Bretton couple to rest of English and German speakers..

I took the tour with Nicolas and he was an amazing driver/guide. We had both french and english speakers on the tour and Nicolas managed to divide attention equally to the 2 groups. He explained all instructions in both languages and translated any of the stories shared by group members. We went to the San Remo market and it was great. We also had time to ourselves in the city and I loved it. I absolutely recommend Nicolas and the Italian markets tour even for solo travelers like myself.
