Next, we head to Motovun, Istria’s most famous hilltop town, perched high above the Mirna River valley. Known for its truffle-rich forests, medieval walls, and charming old town, Motovun is a feast for the senses. Walk along the centuries-old fortifications, take in breathtaking landscapes, and indulge in a local truffle tasting for an authentic Istrian experience.

We will have a tasting of the treasure of Motovun forests - we will taste truffles.
You will be able to climb the 14th-century Venetian city walls of Motovun.

Super trip with Denis, really knowledgable and passionate about the region. A great combination of the two wonderful hill towns. Denis also recommended an amazing lunch spot - Mondo, the best we’ve had in Croatia. Perfect half day option when weather is very hot.
Viator almost blew the whole thing because Viator repeatedly gave us wrong information about the pick up point. The tour guide, Dennis, couldn’t have been better And was very gracious about our problem. I had my phone off but luckily turn it down after waiting 15 minutes beyond pick up time and there he was calling me from nearby. He said he has explained to the agency many times that he cannot pick people up at that spot because of city traffic regulations. So while the tour guide was great, we have a problem with Viator. Also the Tour listed the two hilltop villages that we wanted to see but did not mention that there would be a third stop in another town, Porec, so that was a surprise. Plus it was and still is billed as a six hour tour but instead was a full nine hours. These seem like big interior communication problems that should be corrected.
Our Guide Denis was excellent & shared with us so much information about the areas & towns we visited and information about the history of and everyday life in Croatia, Thankyou for a wonderful day.
This was well worth it! Our guide was amazing and very knowledgeable! She spoke 4 languages and knew the history of Istria. We loved it and short trip from Rovinj. Highly recommend!

Denis was a great guide telling us all about the history of both villages as well as the history of the area on route . This was followed by free time in each of the villages and he recommended a lovely restaurant for lunch which was delicious . Thoroughly enjoyed our half day trip! These are hilltop villages and as such have cobbled streets and are hilly so not a good trip for those with mobility issues .

Both Motovun and Groznan are not to be missed. Denis was a superb guide. This was our third attempt to visit-Covid etc- but well worth the effort.

Nice guide who can tell passionately. Good mix of local history and culinary affairs. Both Motovun and Groznjan are nice towns that are worth visiting. And don't forget to try a meal with truffles and a local wine when you're in Motovun
