Itinerary
Duong Lam is a beautiful, peaceful, clean, quiet village, with enough alleyways and detours that you can still find yourself the only tourist around (on a Wednesday morning, at least). It turned out to be my favourite day trip from Hanoi by a long shot.
Starting your day with a cup of coffee at the train street and see the train pass by

It was wonderful! It was a little rainy, but luckily, it held up just in time to snap pics at the train street. The tour guide knew the exact time the train was coming, so we just sat and tried egg coffee, salt coffee, and coconut coffee. The egg coffee was amazing, and the salt coffee came in a close second. Then we went on to the incense farm. It got a little rainy, but our tour guide instructed us on how to pose for pictures. We were even able to rent traditional vietnamese clothing. However, they only had clothing for women, and there weren't a variety of size choices. On our way back to our hotel, we stopped at a silk shop. The prices were high, but the quality was amazing. There were five floors, each displaying a different product. They had silk artwork made from lotus silk and the silk from silkworms. Some were even luminescent when exposed to blue light. They have traditional clothing, jewelry, and my favorite was the selection of snacks. I walked out with nearly 3 million dong of just snacks. Here's to say. I had a wonderful day!
Good half day tour and overview of Hanoi. Mr Bruno, my tour guide, was excellent in his planning and execution of the tour. He volunteered to help my family in capturing many beautiful memories and photos!
Our guide, Son, was absolutely wonderful! He was very flexible, very knowledgeable, and very accomondating. We wanted to know about the culture and more non-touristy things. He did just that. We had a wonderful day with him. I would highly recommend this tour, and our guide, Son!
