One of the highlights of Tokyo, ramen and gyoza from scratch

My 11-year-old daughter and I attended this course in Nerima and we were very pleased. The place was easy to find, a small kitchen in a quiet neighborhood, charming and unpretentious, spotless clean and welcoming. Yoshi and Amo are simply fantastic hosts. They are warm, patient and incredibly knowledgeable, and they explained every step clearly, from the power and sauce to the noodles and folding of the gyoza. The noodles were knotted in machine, but we were allowed to cut them ourselves, and it was just convenient to make sure we really felt that we were learning the technique properly, not just looking at. It worked excellent for an 11-year-old, she was involved in everything and cost herself a lot. Along the way, they shared stories and little tricks that made the whole experience extra special. And the food? Totally superb. The power was one of the best we have tasted, and it was a pleasure to sit down and eat something we had made from scratch. We were so full that we could hardly get up when we walked. This was one of the most memorable things we did in Tokyo, a real local experience far away from the tourist mole. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn, eat well and meet two very friendly people. Thank you, Yoshi and Amo!

A delicious family friendly ramen and gyoza cooking class

We had a wonderful time at this ramen and gyoza cooking class with my family! The chef and staff were incredibly friendly and made everyone feel welcome from the start. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, even for those of us with limited cooking experience, and the food we made turned out absolutely delicious! A special touch that really stood out was that they generously shared the recipe with us so we can recreate the dishes once we're back home. It was a fun, hands-on experience for the whole family, and we'd highly recommend this class to anyone visiting the area looking for something memorable to do together.

The BEST ramen!

We had so much fun with Amo and Yoshi! Chef Yoshi owned his own ramen restaurant in Sydney, Australia, and has worked in famous ramen shops across Japan. With his help, we made the most wonderful bowls of ramen and gyoza, and they even accommodated my vegan daughter. We all recommend this experience!

Fun, personal, and delicious event away from the crowds

Attended this class as an active thing to do and to meet people on our visit to Tokyo rather than just simply eat out. Recommended to us by a friend, myself and my son thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Amo-san met us at the appointed time at the Egoda station and after a short walk through the quaint residential neighborhood we reached the unassuming location. That day we were the only party at the small but immaculate kitchen. But it seemed to be set up for accommodating more. Yoshi-san had prepared hist best broth and led us through the steps of making the broth along with ramen sauce. Amo-san led us through the process of making the noodles as well as stuffing and closing the gyoza. Plenty of questions and lots of excellent conversation. I’ll leave out the small tips to making good ramen and gyoza for visitors to discover by themselves. Of course, everything tasted delicious! Best broth ever! We made (with help of course) perfectly cooked noodles and gyoza. If you take the morning session then go easy on the breakfast because we were stuffed at the end of the meal. Both Yoshi-san and Amo-san speak good English and they were patient as I tried out my broken Japanese. Highly recommend for a day away from the crowds.
