We were expecting a tourist experience but we ended up thoroughly enjoying an amazing concert with virtuoso players and fantastic environment. The whole experience from the entrance and the venue to the staging and the costumes, transfers the visitors to a different era and offers a great spectacle for the eyes and the soul. We enjoyed every moment and we recommend it unreservedly to anyone who enjoys classical music and a cultural experience.
We had a short stay in Venice and were looking for something to do other than traditional sight-seeing. We are both big fans of classical music and subscription holders for the symphony at home, so when we learned about various concerts focusing on Vivaldi, we jumped at the opportunity to attend. This one hit the sweet spot: a ticket was available for the next evening, it was at 8:30 pm (not too early, not too late), and it was walkable from our hotel. The tickets were 38 EUR (including tax) for the "section B" seats. We got there about 45ish minutes early and got the front row of our section. If we did it again, we'd get section A or VIP tickets and also arrive early to sit even closer. The atmosphere at the concert was professional yet fun, as the musicians were all smiles and appreciative of audience support, but wow, could they ever play! It was magnificient watching such a small ensemble fill the room with beautiful music. We left feeling like we were floating amidst the beauty of Venice's musical history. We would definitely attend this concert again.
It was a wonderful experience. I was a little hesitant about attending the performance because of the heat and the long day, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The variety of music, impressive performances, and the perfect length of the show made it a unique and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Venice. Sitting in the front row is highly recommended for the best experience.
This was a wonderful concert of Vivaldi and other baroque composers. It was chamber music including a soprano vocalist. The musicians were dressed in period attire and phenomenally-talented, and the music was delightful. The program length was about 1:15 H, perfect for baroque/classical music afficionados, and not too long for anyone interested in "sampling" genuine Venetian baroque music. This was a very memorable Venetian experience
I googled the grand Theatro Fenice and site took me to a venue in a church. I was hoping to see something in the theatre. That said the show was amazing. The musicians are so talented and was thoroughly enjoyable evening.
I took my wife to see a recital of the four seasons for which I was very excited, as absolutely adore Vivaldi. What we got was even a whole lot more, we had a wonderful opera singer too, and a great flute player and the 3 x violin, cello, double bass and harpsichord recital of the four seasons was incredible. The venue was beautiful, staff very helpful and not crowded at all.
Great live music and costumes from past created a fun experience. Nice venue with beautiful paintings on the ceiling
Lovely concert and experience! The costumes were stunning and all of the performers were very talented. Nice venue and cool temperature inside, which was a nice way to escape the heat.
The performance was nice. Very entertaining. The door opened at 7:30. The theater was 70% full more than expected.
A delightful evening of music. The musicians were excellent and in costumes appropriate for the time of the music. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Venice.
