The textiles are often marketed by cooperative societies and master weavers, and the Pochampally saree has its own Geographical Indication (GI) tag, signifying its unique origin and craftsmanship. Ikat Weaving: The defining feature is the "Ikat" method, where threads are tie-dyed before weaving to form designs on both the warp (lengthwise) and weft (crosswise) threads.
