The cruise will also pass by the historic Quốc Học High School and the significant statue located in front of the school by the river. This monument, originally named Đài Chiến Sỹ Trận Vong (Monument to the Fallen Soldiers), was built to commemorate French and Vietnamese soldiers from Central Vietnam who fought and lost their lives during World War I (1914–1918). Known in French as "Monument aux Morts," this architectural work stands as a solemn reminder of history, blending cultural heritage with the scenic beauty of the Perfume River.
As the cruise continues along the river, it will pass by the Hue City People's Committee Building (Tòa nhà Ủy ban Nhân dân thành phố Huế), an impressive structure showcasing elegant French colonial architecture. Lovely afternoon with high tea set up. Peaceful plus good photo opportunities.
View along the river was pleasant and it was nice to feel the breeze on the boat. Afternoon tea didn't contain any pastries or carbohydrates; it was just four desserts and some fruit. It was not at all filling and my partner went hungry. It would have been fine if there were two savoury items and two desserts instead. There was a tour guide on board who spoke English and Vietnamese but they only spoke for around five minutes out of ninety. Didn't get to learn much about the history or culture of the city as a result.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We had an unexpected welcome drink offered prior to boarding the boat and then had delightful tea and cakes onboard. The hostess gave detailed commentary as we traveled on the water. Plenty of photo opportunities

Nice experience, got what I expected. Cakes were good, I didn't like the tea, but it was prepared well, the herbs just didn't fit my tastes. Learned something new about Hue while relaxing on the boat.

I had spent a very hot day exploring Hue so this was the perfect relaxing afternoon! the cake and tea were delicious and Tranh was very knowledgeable about Hue and the route!

We booked to kill a couple of hours but were pleasantly suprised by his lovely this was. There were only 9 of us on the boat, the cakes were lovely and the whole experience was informative and relaxing.

If you are looking for a relaxing and beautiful way to see the sights of Hue, you absolutely must book the Moon River Cruise. We took the afternoon cruise, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip! The experience included a lovely afternoon tea, which was the perfect way to unwind while gracefully drifting along the water. What made the trip truly special was our wonderful guide, who took the time to explain all the passing historical sights clearly in both English and Vietnamese. It added so much rich context to the beautiful scenery around us and made the journey feel deeply authentic. I highly recommend booking the afternoon slot—it allows you to experience a gorgeous sunset over the river. Watching the sky change colors from the deck of the boat is incredibly peaceful and a fantastic way to take in the charm of the city. We loved every minute of it and would do it again in a heartbeat!
