Itinerary
Within the neighborhoods in District 3 of Hoi Chi Minh City, hungry locals gather to their favourite eateries from decades-old culinary powerhouses. Our lunchtime food tour invites guests on a culinary experience around Ho Chi Minh City. It's a carefully curated food adventure, led by our team of professional food guides. Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, & the limitations of street food vendors means we unfortunately cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian diets sorry, as there would be 5-6 less tastings. ✖️ Unsuitable for severe allergies, halal and celiac diets, due to the risk of traces & cross-contamination. If you are feeling adventurous for a foodie journey, read on!
Kick off our food adventure with a banh mi from a 40+ year-old joint, paying homage to the icon that was born from the Franco-inspired bakeries of old Saigon. In the backstreets, we'll discover a Michelin-rated kitchen serving stringy rice noodles with thit nuong grilled pork, and succulent beef wrapped in wild betel leaves. We'll gorge on 15+ tastings in all, from red banh cua crab soup to white shredded pork and coconut cream. We'll expand the palate with charcoal-grilled babylon snails and razor clams with morning glory, to sticky rice bananas and pumpkin custard. We don't want to spoil all the surprises, though we won't let you leave hungry.
More ingredients to this culinary expedition include a dosage of history at a secret weapons bunker. There's a photo-worthy stroll through the fascinating Nguyen Thien Thuat apartment complex, a bygone of the American solider era, and now transformed into a mecca for street food. Toast the end of the tour with a lively coffee workshop, a nod to the innovative twists of the Vietnamese menu. Come to discover a new-found appreciation of this foodie capital of the South, alongside our friendly, food-obsessed guide.

We had an amazing food tour in Ho Chi Minh City! The experience felt very local and authentic, which made it even more special. The food was delicious, with a great variety of dishes that allowed us to try many different flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. We left feeling completely satisfied and full! Our guide Dat was excellent—very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the local culture and food scene. He provided interesting information throughout the tour and made the whole experience enjoyable and engaging. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience authentic local food in Ho Chi Minh City!

This tour was the highlight of my HCMC experience! I got to try so many foods and drinks and desserts that I don't think I would've been able to without the help of my amazing guide, Nhi! She explained each dish, taught me about the foods and how it related to Vietnamese history. We also stopped by some historical sites on the tour which was a perfect eating break where I learned so much. I had so much fun!
Come to this tour hungry! I tried soooo many different foods with May and really got to try a variety of dishes that highlighted southern Vietnamese cuisine. In addition May shared a lot of information about Vietnamese history and culture which was a great addition to the tour. I had such a great time and would highly recommend this tour with May.
Had a tour with Dat as a tour guide and I had a great time. We tried more food than I could eat and everything was amazing. Tried a lot of food that I had never tried or went to areas I would never have found by myself. I recommend this tour to anyone in HCMC, just make sure you don't eat anything before the food. There is A LOT of food!
My sister and I visited Ho Chi Min City for her Spring Break and had an excellent time on the food tour with our guide Layla. She took us to so may spots that were outside of the touristy areas, giving us an opportunity to eat like the locals do. All the food was absolutely delicious and abundant. We also got to walk around, exploring the city a bit and learning more about the environment. Overall it’s an incredibly well rounded and delicious experience!
We had a great time on the food tour with Dat! We were taken to multiple street vendors and restaurants, trying a variety of foods. The portions were generous and we left feeling so full! The experience ended at a lovely local coffee stop where you learned about the traditional robusta beans. We even visited an old war tunnel and learned some history along the way. Highly recommend!
Hien led me on a great tour of Saigon’s district 3, making stops at half a dozen street carts and small restaurants as well as a few sites of historical interest. I tasted some things I’d never tasted and loved the whole experience!
