An 800-hectare brackish lagoon in Hue nestled between Hai Van Pass and Phu Gia Pass, Lap An is often described as a place where mountain meets the ocean. A stop here will give you a panoramic view ofthe magnificent Bach Ma mountain range in the backdrop and a chance to explore the natural habitat of many animals and aquatic plants. While enjoying the picturesque scenery, you can also learn about oyster farming in Lang Co and try the renowned local seafood.
Recognized as one of the most beautiful bays in the world in 2009, Lang Co Bay at the foot of Hai Van Pass and against the prime forest of Bach Ma National Park is famed for its spectacular beauty and diverse ecology. A trip from Hue to Danang is not complete without a stop-over here where you can contemplate the long white-sand beach with blue seawater of Lang Co Bay. It will capture every visitor’s heart at first sight!
Take the private car trip from Hue to Danang and you will have the option of going through Hai Van tunnel or crossing Hai Van pass, one of the most scenic routesthat winds around the mountainside of Truong Son range and overlooks the East Sea. This was a brilliant way to travel from Hue to Hoi An & capture some of the sights in between in the company of the superb Nam. Following a prompt pick up from our hotel in Hue, the fun started. It was both educational, interesting & we had a great laugh along the road. Along the journey we seen & visited Lap An Lagoon, Lang Co Beach, Hai Van pass, Golden Bridge (Ba Na Hills) & Marble Mountain. It was a long, busy & enjoyable day and Nam made it flow perfectly at a pace that suited us. We were dropped to our hotel in Hoi An & said our goodbyes to Nam. Booked a driver with TripAdvisor and we were so lucky to get Leo. He communicated prior to the trip and was a little early. The car was immaculate and he had cold water for all of us. Cars, motorbikes and pedestrians add up to crazy in Vietnam but we always felt safe. We started in Hue. Leo took us to a lovely lagoon. He zipped us through the entrance to Sun world (sort of like USA Disney) then to our final stop in hoi an. All the way he was so pleasant and conversational. If you need a driver and can ask for Leo, do so!
