Itinerary
Drive along Hai Van Pass, a winding mountain road known for its spectacular views. Stop at the summit to take in the wide panorama of mountains and sea. The shifting weather, passing clouds, and ocean horizon create a constantly changing view, making this one of the most memorable photo stops of the trip. Descend toward Lang Co Bay, where the landscape opens into a quiet bay with a long stretch of sand and a calm lagoon behind it. A short stop here offers a glimpse into local coastal life — small fishing boats, oyster farms, and daily routines that continue at an unhurried pace.
Continue to Khai Dinh Tomb, set on a hillside with a commanding view of the surrounding countryside. Unlike other royal tombs, its design is striking and unconventional, blending traditional Vietnamese elements with European influence. Inside, the intricate mosaics, detailed decorations, and dramatic interior create a strong visual impression. The site offers insight into a unique moment in Vietnam’s history, where old traditions met new influences.
Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, set on a small hill overlooking the Perfume River. The pagoda’s iconic tower rises above the trees, while the surrounding gardens and river views create a calm and reflective atmosphere. It’s a place where history, religion, and daily life come together in a subtle way.
Lunch in Hue – Taste of Imperial Cuisine Arrive in Hue and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. The cuisine here is known for its balance and refinement, once developed for the royal court. Enter Hue Imperial City, the political and cultural center of the Nguyen Dynasty. Passing through Ngo Mon Gate, the scale of the citadel becomes clear. Wide courtyards, symmetrical layouts, and ceremonial spaces like Thai Hoa Palace reveal how the empire was structured and governed. Further inside, the remains of the Forbidden Purple City offer a more personal glimpse into royal life. Though partly ruined, the atmosphere still carries a sense of history and quiet grandeur.
