Your full-day shore excursion begins with pickup at Phu My or Lotus port and a 2-hour drive into Ho Chi Minh City in the air-conditioned comfort of a private vehicle.
Start out at the National History Museum, which houses an excellent collection of artifacts illustrating the evolution of the cultures of Vietnam, from the Dong Son civilization of the Bronze Age to Cham, Khmer and modern-day peoples.
Then visit visit the Emperor Jade Pagoda, also known as Tortoise Pagoda, is one of the five most important shrines in Ho Chi Minh City, where American President Barack Obama chose to visit in 2016
After lunch at a local restaurant, take a 1-hour cyclo ride along Dong Khoi Street, formerly known as the Rue Catinat, which is the heart of old colonial Saigon. Pass by classic French-style landmarks such as Saigon City Hall and the Saigon Opera House, and pay a quick visit to the neo-Romanesque Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office nearby. Make a photo stop at the Presidential Palace, renowned for its symbolic role in the fall of Saigon in 1975, and end your cyclo tour at Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City. You’re free to explore the market, packed with every conceivable commodity, before the return drive by private vehicle back to the cruise terminal.

Lee was a terrific tour guide. Great knowledge, kept everyone a part of the tour and did a great job keeping everyone safe.
Doan was a great guide. He kept the tour informative and entertaining. Since this was my first cycle tour, I was nervous about keeping up and hearing everything. Hong did a great job keeping us together and stopping at noted points. He also recommended a great lunch at the end.
Overall, the trip was fantastic. Our guide, Tray, was exceptional the entire time, and we truly valued his expertise. While a few activities felt like filler and didn't engage us, the enjoyment we got from the others more than compensated. The hotels exceeded our expectations and were conveniently situated. However, the lunch on the first day was underwhelming. With a significant amount of time spent on the coach, it's a good idea to bring along some entertainment to help pass the time.
We had an absolutely fabulous day with Steven! Our adventure began with a marvelous rickshaw ride through the old quarter, followed by a breathtaking ascent to the 49th floor of Saigon Skywalk, where we were treated to an incredible 360-degree view of this bustling city of 9 million people. The program also included a truly authentic pho lunch and delightful snacks, including freshly hacked coconuts with straws to sip the deliciously cool water inside. Throughout the day, Steven demonstrated remarkable patience, kindness, and enthusiasm, ensuring our happiness was his top priority.

His wealth of knowledge regarding Vietnam and Saigon's history enriched our journey as he guided us through numerous historical sites. The experience was remarkable from the start, thanks to stellar communication. Jack, our guide, along with our driver Troung, greeted us at the port gate. During the 1.5-hour drive into the city, Jack provided an exceptional lesson in his country's history and culture, enriching our understanding greatly. We visited several historic sites where Jack's explanations were informative and engaging. The highlight was an authentic riverside lunch, which was simply amazing. Jack's guidance was superior to what other passengers received on the cruise ship tour, offering us a unique and unforgettable experience. This tour, and Jack's expertise, come highly recommended.
