Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve set in the heart of Zululand where Africa’s Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros) roam the flourishing savannah. Established in 1895 this is the oldest park in South Africa and encompasses over 98000 hectares of beautiful African landscape. This tour is in a closed vehicle. The Park contains an immense diversity of fauna and flora and is characterised by hilly topography. The list of animals at the park is long and varied. Hluhluwe Game Reserve makes up the northern top half of the reserve which is renowned for its diverse variety of bird and animal life. South of Hluhluwe is the Imfolozi Game Reserve which makes up half of the park. These two reserves were joined together to create the largest reserve in KwaZulu Natal.

Thankyou so much First Zulu Safari, had an amazing time at Hluhluwe with my family and mom, we managed to see all the big 5 and also saw my first leopard after years of being alluded.Was Amazing .
We should have been in a combi, high up. However we ended up in an SUV that was very low to see the animals well. Thami did his best to show us the animals. But 1st Zulu Safaris should know better. Thanks
Thanks for choosing us to host you, there was an option to choosing open vehicle game drive at the park for an extra cost for more visibility
The older vehicle was very small and uncomfortable for 5 Pax including driver, no water or drinks were offered and no break for lunch was offered, however driver was friendly and informative. The driver wanted to shorten the tour already after 2,5 hours in the park, but after customers complained he did the full itinerary time. From a VIATOR tour of this price level we would have expected much more and we did a lot of travel with VIATOR in the past and were not disappointed.
Thanks for the review and we allocated the 4x4 for your group because it is registered as 7 seater and we also shorten tour depending on departure of cruise ship and us knowing traffic on the Highway from Hluhluwe to Richards Bay, our driver/guide probably avoiding you missing your cruise ship But thanks again for your comments and will work on improving such issues
We had a fantastic day on a safari in Hluhluwe and Imfolozi National parks with our guide Fortune. We came by a NCL cruise boat to Richards Bay and he waited for us and drove us to the park. On a way to park, he explained everything we saw and we learned much about beautiful Zulu country and their culture. Fortune was so patient and did everything he could to find as many animals as possible in the park(s). While we didn't see lions, we saw numerous animals; Fortune always made sure to find a best angle for us to take pictures. Thank you, Fortune, for all lovely memories of that day!
The instruction on where and when to meet the tour guide is not clear. It took about an hour before getting on a bus.
So sorry about delay but it was out of our hands as there was a delay at the main gate at cruise terminal Sorry for the inconvenience
Excellent all round trip through stunning scenery with excellent wildlife. Our tour guide Freddy was exceptional, very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Thoroughly enjoyable.
