At the heart of Buganda’s cultural and political life stands the Lubiri—the Kabaka’s Palace. More than a royal residence, Lubiri is a symbol of unity, tradition, and sovereignty. Its origin is tied not only to Buganda’s political evolution but also to its spiritual and geographical landscape. Therefore you will be welcomed in a traditional or cultural style as royal viator and given a special tour guide to lead you in exploring the palace to see the car remains of king Edward Mutesa I, the cannon gun and the famous torture chambers of Idi Amin Dada. At this point expect to have diversified history of Uganda ranging from political, cultural, economical, social and religious aspects
Perched on Kasubi Hill in Kampala, Uganda, lies one of the most revered and spiritually potent sites in the Kingdom of Buganda—the Kasubi Tombs. To the untrained eye, it may appear as a quiet, thatched enclosure with an impressive round hut at its center. But to the Baganda people and cultural historians, it is the final resting place of the prominent kings of Buganda. The site serves both as a burial ground for four Kabakas (kings) and a spiritual hub nwhere the past and present converge. It is here that Baganda subjects come to seek blessings, perform rituals, and reflect on their ancestry. Therefore you will be offered a guided tour through these royal tombs and shrine to experience the real cultural feel and practices of Buganda kingdom. You can take pictures and videos at this site as you wish
As a way of tracing the political and social journey of Uganda, you will be led to the independence monument where our guide will explain to you the interpretation of the monument which is so interesting showcasing the stages that Uganda has gone through (before, during and after the colonial rule period). You are given a chance to take photoes and videos
This is a whole sale market with a diversity of products. One could be right to call it “spicy market” due to the fact that it has different spices both local and imported ones. Local food, vegetables and fruits are also in plenty. You will therefore be walked through as you capture pictures and interact with the vendors
Owino market is another organized chaos in Kampala where you will be able to see a variety of second hand goods especially clothes, shoes, and many more sold at a very affordable price which makes it easy for the local people to rush into buying items from here. You will be given a chance to take pictures and videos that will surely set remarkable memories
Just like any other capital city, Kampala is comprised of a huge tax park with thousands of taxis which transport people and their goods in and out of the city. This park is strategically located in the center of the business buildings which makes it very accessible from all angles
Kisenyi slum is a low class suburb accommodating a mixed culture of people from different countries especially refugees from Somalia, DRC, South Sudan and Literia. It’s also a zone where heavy work like metal recycling is done from so it will offer a very good experience to you. You can take pictures and videos after asking through your tour guide.

Fantastic experience. A great introduction to Kampala and Uganda. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a tour of Kampala’s main cultural sites. Our tour guide, Nasser, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Through his charisma, Nasser was able to bring the history of Kampala to life. We requested pickup from Entebbe which the tour company kindly organised.

Excellent tour for those who want to learn more about the history of the Baganda kingdom and the development of the nation of Uganda. The guides provided at the Kings Palace and the Kasubi Tombs were exceptional. Abdul did a good job getting from place to place and filling in gaps in our understanding.
Hi James! We surely appreciate you for sharing such genuine feedback. It’s our pleasure to know that you had an excellent tour that met your expectations with Abdul. Cheers

On or about March 21 after a 2 month tour of East Africa I must admit this personalized tour by Mr Muyomba Augustine was the highlight. Inspite of brutal/evil Colonialism, the Buganda Kingdam kept their culture in tact; and a remarkable culture it is as so eloquently expressed! As an American born African from Birmingham Alabamas Historic middle class Dynamite Hill of Smithfield, I appreciate history because it was Citizens in my City and State that forced my Country (USA) to treat everyone w/ dignity as humans. It was a bloody battle for my Ancestors from 1815 to now. I owned Dynamite Hill Tours pre COVID and it was the best and most sought after period until funding was cut in 2016. This Buganda tour is far superior and should be seen by all who visit East Africa and Kampala Uganda_ Kamau Afrika
Hi Kamau! Your feedback is highly valued and appreciated. We are glad that you visited and and explored the virgin culture of Buganda /Uganda
I had a really great experience on this historical tour of Kampala and would definitely recommend it! My guide, Nasser, was fantastic—very friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took me to several key historical and cultural sites around the city, including the I ❤️ Kampala sign, Kasubi Tombs, the Kabaka’s Palace, and the Gaddafi National Mosque. Each stop was meaningful, and I learned so much about the history and culture of Kampala throughout the day. What I really appreciated was how smoothly everything was organized. We were able to cover so many important locations in just one day without feeling rushed, and Nasser made the experience engaging and informative the entire time. The only downside is that entrance fees to the sites were not included, so I had to pay for those separately. It’s something to keep in mind when booking. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and insightful experience. Nasser is a great guide, and I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore Kampala’s history in a meaningful way.

Really enjoyed the tour. Nasser was a very nice and knowledgeable guide. He took good care of me. Sights were Al very interesting. Would have preferred that the entry fees be included in the tour but it is not a big deal. I recommend the tour.

Thanks so much to the outstanding driver and guide Nasser - who adeptly drove us in and around the Kampala to visit important historic sites of various points in Ugandan history- from the UNESCO world heritage site Kasubi tombs to the Kabaka/King’s (Bugandan) Palace (that also hosts Idi Amin’s torture chambers) to the Gaddafi mosque- beautiful in itself but also the climb up the 270 steps is rewarded with amazing views of Kampala from all sides. Each of the sites also provided guides who were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I came away from each site with a much better understanding of Uganda - and a strong desire to keep exploring. Thank you, Nasser

The tour was very exciting and informative. All day long, Nasser and his assistant took us around the city and explained about the life of the people in different area. He also explained how Uganda people took their Independence. We also went to the famous taxi station where tons of taxi in the park. Then we navigated thru the markets with people carried different items in their head in the narrow pathway and of course with tons of people. Wow! What a sight to see especially if you come from more quiet area in your own town. Very dynamic and interesting. We then headed to the palace and the mosque. The building itself includes many story to tell. I guess one just have to be there to listen to the story. Finally we went to the tombs. Save the best for last… I can even feel the spirit surrounding me and all the respect respects for the Kings. The tombs is beautifully constructed. Overall this tour with Nasser and his assistant truly told us about the culture, the life of the people and explained the history of the palace, the mosque and the tombs. The team and the tour deserts a rating of 5. I almost forgot, he also quite funny as well, which brought all of us a good laugh and brought the smile on our faces even on a hot day! Btw
Hi Christine! We proudly appreciate your support and feedback. Thanks so much for bringing such a big group to explore Kampala with us and it’s a pleasure to hear that you all enjoyed every single step with Nasser in the city. We hope to keep you closer as we believe you can bring us more See you soon again
This tours gives one an overview of Kampala and encompasses museums, monuments, cultural attractions, temples, outdoor markets and different neighborhoods. The highlight of the trip was the king’s palace. The tour guides were very protective as we walked through the outdoor chaotic markets. We got a very good understanding of what an African city is like and what happens to donated clothing. Very much an eye opener from someone from one of the wealthier countries. The guides were helpful and answered all of our question. I recommend this tour for those who are curious about other cultures and wants to learn more about our world.
Wow! We surely appreciate every single statement in your feedback and it’s a great way to make us proud of our efforts in providing a local based experience! We promise to maintain our reputation sustainably for the future clients
