Wonderful driver for this tour - can’t say the same about the provider

Firstly, the driver Indiran was awesome - patient, kind, helpful & professional. It was the Diwali weekend so the traffic was an absolute nightmare. Indiran remained cheerful throughout. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same complimentary things about Asni Global, the tour operator. When they sent me the tickets, there was a phone number & the explanation “ If you have your specific questions, call the operator “. It would have been easier for me to win the jackpot in the Lottery. This is a provider who doesn’t answer calls & has recorded messages saying “The number you called is busy. Please try your call later.” Twice would have been fine but when it is constant, you get the expression that the provider wants nothing to do with you or any questions you may have. I cannot in all honesty recommend this provider. The driver was great & Melaka was okay - just don’t have any tour specific questions or ask for information as nobody in the provider’s office actually answers phone calls.

Operator response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re really glad to hear that you had a great experience with our driver, Indiran — we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to him. We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience you faced reaching our support team, especially during the busy Diwali weekend. Your comments are very helpful, and we’ll work on improving our communication to ensure smoother assistance for our future guests. We appreciate your honesty and hope to have the chance to serve you better next time.

Hassle-free daytrip to historical sights

It was a great trip to Melakka. 1.5h on the way to M. and 2.5h back to KL due to traffic. The city center is easily walkable and my great driver Aris helped me find all the historical locations. I also dipped into the museum at the Stadthaus, which was worth it. Everything went smoothly and hassle-free. The tour is greatly recommended.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR THROUGH VIATOR

Do not book this tour through Viator! The exact same tour is available for 1/3 of the price on Klook. This itinerary is slightly outdated (not the first time this has been an issue with things I’ve booked on Viator), there is no hotel drop off, they just take you back to two spots in KL and the additional lunch that they charge almost £20 more for is definitely not worth it!! Whilst the restaurant we went to was nice, you would assume that a local lunch would mean Malaysian food but it doesn’t and £20 for a meal anywhere in Malaysia is very expensive!! When contacting Viator about this I was told they’d send my feedback to the operator and I would hear back… that was over a week ago and I have heard nothing. I spent almost £70 on this trip when it is not what I expected and others purchased it for £24 on Klook - The Viator mark-up is crazy!!

Operator response

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that your experience didn't meet your expectations and that there were issues with the itinerary and pricing. We take your comments seriously and will review them to improve future offerings. We understand your frustration and apologize for the lack of follow-up regarding your concerns. Your feedback is valuable, and we hope to provide you with a better experience next time.

Our guide Jonson was really excellent: he gave us that little special to make our experience interesting, pleasant and fun. The tour was well organized, with enough time to visit all the places. After lunch (which was good and tasteful) we also had more than 2 hours for freely walk around in the city center! Super

Malacca - a must visit destination, but be aware of tour surcharges!

The day trip to Malacca was very enjoyable. We were picked up early due to anticipated traffic problems (Chinese New Year) but the journey was very smooth, taking 2 hours to get to Malacca and 3 hours back to KL. That gave us 8 hours in Malacca which was a decent amount of time to see the main sights. The "tour" part around the Malacca historical sites actually only took 2 hours, after which time we were free to do as we wished, which I appreciated. The only issue - and it is a rather big one - was that we were asked to pay the guide an additional USD$20 pp cash at the conclusion of the trip - he said it was for "the extras" but we weren't clear on what the extras were ... Adding another 25% (AU$30) on to a trip which cost AU$117 seemed a bit strange. But we all paid up, as what were we to do? Not saying the guide ripped us off (he was a very lovely man, knowledgeable and informative) but none of us were really clear as to what this "surcharge" was for, and we should have been informed about any surcharges upfront. One of our tour group didn't have any MYR cash on him at all and had to locate a money changer whilst we all waited in the vehicle. Perhaps Viator can respond?
