Itinerary
The Rock of Gibraltar is full of interesting history dating back to the year 711A.D when Tarik Ibn Zeyad, a Berber leader of the Arab Governor of North Africa “Musa Ibn Nosseyer” landed at the Southern end of the rock. The word Gibraltar is a derivative of the Arabic words ”Jebel Tarik” which means Tariks Mountain, and so his memory lives on.
Saint Michael's Cave is a series, or network of caves made of limestone, which are found on the Rock of Gibraltar. St Michael's Cave is located on what is called the Upper Rock, inside the Upper Rock Nature Reserve of Gibraltar and sites at a height of well over 300 metres above sea level.
Enjoy free time in Gibraltar for shopping or have lunch.

I’d give this a 3.5, but my wife probably a 2. There were some cool parts, but it is a LOT of riding and waiting. I want to give a full account of what the tour ACTUALLY is… You will ride about 2h45m to Gibraltar with a 20 min rest stop in the middle. Guide will mention a few factoids along the way but mostly a lot of quiet time. Then there is a 45 min customs stop with bus in line then walking. As of July 15th 2026, that part should be eliminated due to the new boarder law there. You’ll have 90ish min to grab food, shop, hang out, whatever in a VERY busy, noisy, kind dirty, tourist square. Then there’s the 15ish min walk to the next bus which takes you up the mountain (after waiting another 20 min for the bus in a parking garage). This bus will fly up the mountainside with an automated pre-recorded “guide” of what you are (kind of) seeing. Side note: If you have issues with heights, or seemingly (but not actually) dangerously fast driving on VERY narrow, extremely steep & crowded streets, this tour is NOT for you. Otherwise, the scenery is beautiful. St. Michael’s Cave is the highlight of the tour (for me and others), but you only get 20 min (about 1/3 the time you should get considering the long trip) to see it and the local monkeys. Then you have to hope you can figure out the meeting spot because that’s not very clear, but it’s not hard with a little thinking and some luck -- nothing to do with review score. OVERALL, unless you primarily just want a 6 hour commute for a scenery drive, I wouldn’t spend the money.
Good afternoon, we’re sorry to hear that you feel this way about the service you booked. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that cause the tour to take longer than originally planned. In any case, we hope that the positive aspects proved most beneficial for you and your wife and that, despite the circumstances, you were able to enjoy the trip. Kind regards, The Granavisión team
Karlos was a great tour guide because he was kind and understanding. He did his best to make others enjoy the trip
Thank you for your feedback, and for choosing our services. Kind regards, The Granavisión team
The experience did not live up to the agreed terms. We were suppose to have a full transfer with not two stops. We ended up having 5 stops to pick up additional tourist. These stops caused us to be late and miss our scheduled tour time of 2:15. There was no apology nor has there been any communication from Viator to reimburse us for the excursion. Our guide did tell us we would be reimbursed but Viator has yet to do so. Very poor experience I would not recommend this day trip to anyone. I would give a zero star score if the option was available.

Was a really good way to see Gibraltar as there’s isn’t an awful lot to do this was the perfect way to experience it, guide was really friendly, helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about Gibraltar as well as the southern Spain region. Pia was a perfect tour guide!
The tour was well organized, and the guide took great care of us, especially my grandmother, who sometimes has mobility issues. However, I wish we had been told in advance how little time we would spend with the monkeys. I wasn't aware that the stop would be so short, and I didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the experience. Besides that, I also feel that we didn't have enough time to explore the city center. An extra hour there would have made a big difference, and I think we could have returned to Spain a little later. Overall, it was a good experience, but I would have appreciated more time at these two highlights.
This tour does not take you to the high point of the Rock. It is mainly focused on the monkeys and the caves so this was a little disappointing. Our tour guide around Gibraltar Rock Dave, was very funny and knowledgeable. He made the tour worthwhile.
The rock was amazing and the local tour guide was very informative. A must do trip
There was confusion with meeting point and time. Tried to reach out to operator with no success. Finally called Viator when no one showed to pick us up. Tour was great.
I really enjoyed it. I am happy with Laura's service, who made sure she was comfortable and satisfied during the outing.
The tour was good, however, there was a mixed up with our pick-up point because (I think) there were too many intermediaries in the booking (viator -> some intermediary -> real tour operator)
