Unfortunately, the tour did not meet our expectations. We had anticipated a more traditional, guided experience with consistent narration and historical or contextual detail. While the driver was polite and well-intentioned, the tour itself was very limited. Only a few buildings were pointed out, with little to no explanation provided, and due to the driver’s limited English proficiency, there was minimal communication throughout the experience. Approximately halfway through the tour, the vehicle was involved in an accident. Thankfully, no one was injured; however, the incident was disruptive and further detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, while the vehicle is visually appealing, it is not well-suited for hot weather. The air conditioning was largely ineffective, and with the translucent roof allowing direct sunlight, the interior became uncomfortably hot, making the ride quite unpleasant. Overall, the experience fell short of what was advertised and what we reasonably expected from the tour.
The driver was professional and polite and was very patient in dealing with the traffic jams of Madrid. He didn't speak much English but there was a recording I could listen to along the way. He let me get out of the car and take pictures here and there. This tour is a good way to get an initial feel for the city and I like the private aspect of the tour. I didn't realize the vehicle would be a Jeep with a classic car body added to it. It did attract attention particularly from the school children in various parts of the city.
We had an amazing time in Madrid. Unfortunately this was one of the most disappointing experiences of our entire trip. We spent 2 hours driving around and our driver pointed out a building or location every 10-15 minutes with no information or details. As an example, we drove past the soccer stadium and he pointed and said soccer stadium; There’s the bull ring. The tour went on and on like this. No history or anything about Madrid. To top it all off our driver got into an accident about 20 minutes before the tour ended. I communicated the details to the company with no response. I would not recommend this company for the Hurtan tour. The car was cool. But not worth the money if all you are doing is just driving around the city without a tour. Including an image of the car accident location.
The tour itself was very good .. we passed by lots of places and got a good feel of the city. Our guide struggled with English, and once he knew I spoke Spanish ..I did most of the translating .. we joked that I should have been paid the tip. He was very polite and professional. The vintage car … very uncomfortable.. there were 4 adults and honestly should never be booked for that many unless they are very small. I would recommend no more than 3 adults or 2 adults with small kids. It made for a long 2 hours
The tour is quick and there isn’t a lot of depth to the information provided for individual locations, but it allows you to get a good feel for the layout of the city. As a bonus, a LOT of people will be reaching for their phones and/or pointing. Feel free to pretend it’s you - instead of the vehicle - they’re so thrilled to see. :-)
The most memorable is driver Victor and his car.Wonderful experience in Madrid with him.Victor knows everything about Madrid and told as everything in colourful way.Just want we expected.Al the people on streets were turned around our car. Thank you Viator for this possibility
I’m sorry to say this because I am honestly not a complainer. However, this was really not a great experience. I’m sure the driver will agree. We hardly saw any of Madrid, stuck in backstreets for a a very long time, literally just crawling along between buildings. We saw nothing of the city we were expecting. Also, the comentary was just repeating the same message over and over. The driver told us at the start that he didn’t speak English so we sat in silence all that time. After an hour, when we finally got moving ( it was a 2 hour tour ) we chose to just stop & go back to the hotel. Hugely disappointing and expensive mistake.
Our driver was very friendly and arrived on time, however it was more a taxi ride than a Tour. He just showed us where bars and restaurants were, we did not get a single explanation of the town and history overall.
The guide was very thoughtful, courteous, and made sure we had a good time. The automobile was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The pick up and drop off was without flaw.
Absolutely shambolic. waiting at 1520 for a 1500 trip called and they had no idea !!! The company lost our reservation.I called at 3 pm and she explained they had not seen a revsevation or the piece of paper had been lost . Then a lovely young lady tried to help. She said she was new and really did try to help (Rosanna) She did after a lot of pleading try to get a later appointment that day ,it was 3 hour later , which was kind of them . We could not go as we already had plan However they Originally the cheek l to ask me to chase up Trip advisor to get the refund sorted . They cannot refund our money. As there were no managers in the shop. I’m really disappointed . I’m normally quite positive on TripAdvisor because these tripa are difficult to book and I understand it can be tricky.
