Great tour for the price. The hike wasn't too bad, just go on your own pace. The views of Lagoon and Glacier at the end are amazing.
Thank you so much for your feedback! :)
Thoroughly enjoyable day. Well organised. Our tour guide Miguel looked after us.
Thank you so much, friends, for leaving this comment!
Manuel is very nice and knowledgeable. He explained a lot about the mountains, the history of Bolivia, about the cities and about the animals of the area. His english was good, and he helped me with small things like extra clothes and food, even though he wasnt obliged to. Thanks Manuel!
I booked a day tour and was so glad I did! Our guide Manuel was great. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a snack on the drive to the starting place. You are also provided with hiking sticks should you need it. The hike itself isn't that hard but as it's high altitude best to take it slow. Manuel ensured everyone was ok as we got to the top. What is waiting for you at the end is just stunning. Beautiful clear blue lake and a glacier. Manuel was able to take some amazing photos for me which just captured the beauty of this amazing place! I gave him a $20 tip (this was my own doing it was never forced) as he deserved it. We also stopped by the small cemetery on the way back which Manuel was able to give us some background information on the area and the local customs which was really fascinating to learn about. Definitely recommend this visit to Charquini. Absolutely loved it!
Great sceneries, good guides. Only about 1.5 hours of actually hiking. But the Esmeralda lake was and glaciers were beautiful. Would recommend!
Excellent and super friendly guide, the snack provided was so super tasty. One complaint is that the glacier has receded by a large amount since the pictures were taken and you can't hike up past the lake to see it closer.
Excellent service. Manuel, our guide, dedicated and attentive.
This hike was great, the guide was very knowledgeable and once we arrived at the start of the hike, we were able to go at our own pace to the lagoon, with the guide following behind the slowest of the group. It was an easy to follow path but a moderately challenging hike due to the altitude. However, it was all worth it when we reached the amazing views of the lagoon and had the snacks (cake, chocolate and banana) provided to us from the guide! Even with stormy weather the views, landscape and experience were amazing. All in all a great day!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind comment. I will pass on the excellent work of our guide to Charquini. Best regards, and welcome back to Bolivia!
The tour up to Charquini was great. On the way there we made a few photo stops, and then hiked up to the lagoon for about an hour. It is a worthwhile half-day tour, you are back in the early afternoon and can end the rest of the day relaxed in La Paz
Patty’s service and support was magnificent, made the experience amazing. Karen's help 24/7 from agency was vital, for her attention we decided to take more activities with the agency
