Immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Albanian countryside on a tour to Gamti Mountain and Lake Bovilla from Tirana. Enjoy round-trip transportation by air-conditioned vehicle. Begin your tour with pickup from your accommodation and set out on a scenic drive to Lake Bovilla. Discover the patterns of life in suburban Tirana as you pass through the city on your way to the countryside. As you approach Lake Bovilla, see the lake's impressive dam. Admire the lake's shimmering teal and turquoise waters, nestled at the base of Gamti Mountain. Head up to the hiking track to begin your ascent of the mountain, soaking up the nature atmosphere.
After about 40 minutes of hiking, reach the balcony of the mountain and observe the expansive, rolling forest and hills stretching out before you. At your feet, gaze in wonder at the stunning views of Lake Bovilla. Breathe in the fresh mountain air on your cheeks in a setting of pure natural beauty. Trail details : Min Altitude : 460 m Max Altitude : 620 m Elevation: 160 m Distance up and down : 1.95 km ( 0,97 km one way) Pause to sip water and chat in the shadows of a mountain cave before descending the mountain along the same route. FREE TIME: During the tour, the guide will give you free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Bovilla Lake. You can use this time to have your own snacks or drinks, or choose to enjoy lunch at the restaurant there.
Once you've finished your hike, round off your trip by visiting the shore of the river and admire the unique, canyon-like scenery as you splash and paddle in the cool waters. Note: Swimming on the river is available only from: May to September.
After the amazing time we transfer back to Tirana and drop you off at the same place we picked you up.

This was a great day out with some stunning scenery. I would advise those with a fear of heights to think carefully as there was no alternative given if you changed your mind. That said, you can walk up the road to the restaurant (very hot and longer than the planned hike and the guide was not happy we split the group up). My daughter did the whole hike including the scary stairs and said it wasn’t as bad as it looked so now I wish I’d been braver! But if you have dodgy knees give this trip a miss.

This is probably the best way to see Bovilla since driving there would be more stress than it is worth. We had Antonio as our guide, and he was good. The hike is a bit strenuous, but the view is amazing. The stop at the water and restaurant at the end is a nice touch.

My friends and I went on this tour today and thought it was great! The bus guide Antonio was knowledgeable, had a good sense of humour and made any instructions clear with an emphasis of respecting time limits. The view from the mountain was incredible and truly a privilege to see. Given that it was a very hot summer day the swim in the beautiful clear lake was exactly what we needed afterwards. The bus was comfortable, air conditioned and our driver did an excellent job at navigating the narrow roads - which at times could get very bumpy too!! Carsickness sufferers beware! The hike up to the mountain viewpoint was a little challenging for me personally; it was a hot day and quite a steep climb at times. As I write this my smartwatch suggests I have walked 8km rather than the potential 4km that the trip is advertised as - unsure how accurate that is though! I would recommend bringing a bottle of water or two to keep yourself cool and safe if you think there is any chance you might need it. Wear good shoes and be prepared, but I would say the hike up is absolutely worth it for the views. If I were to change anything, I would suggest perhaps having another guide who would be able to accompany people of varying fitness levels, as a few people needed to take more breaks and some needed to wait at the bottom of the mountain as hike was too much for them. There was a slight feeling of pressure to keep up from our guide, which might be helped by having someone else with the group. That aside, the day was great and we are truly grateful to the company for helping us make the most of our time in Albania ❤️
The trip was amazing, and I would like to give a special shout-out to our guide for the day, Antoni. He shared very interesting historical facts about Albania. The view was breathtaking, and pictures simply don't do it justice. A must-visit if you're in Albania.
It was really nice trip, walk to the mountains was difficult but worth the view, it was really amazing experience. Sure you have to be prepared, good shoes, and cold drink :).
This was an enjoyable day trip with Antonio as our guide. We usually don’t care to do group tours but driving out to this location seemed stressful and this made it easy. The stop at the swimming hole/restaurant at the end is a lovely addition.
