Perched high above the coastline, Brusje is one of Hvar’s oldest and most picturesque villages, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding islands. Nestled among fragrant lavender fields, olive groves, and vineyards, it preserves the authentic charm and timeless traditions of island life. With its stone houses, historic churches, and peaceful atmosphere, Brusje provides a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Hvar away from the bustling tourist crowds.
The lavender fields near Brusje are among Hvar’s most iconic landscapes, transforming the hillsides into a sea of purple during the summer bloom. Their fragrant scent and vibrant colors create a truly unforgettable experience, offering some of the island’s most beautiful panoramic views. For generations, lavender cultivation has been an important part of local life, shaping the traditions and heritage of this unique region.
Velo Grablje has long been at the heart of Hvar’s lavender-growing tradition, with local families cultivating and harvesting lavender for generations. In the early 20th century, the village became one of the island’s most important centers of lavender production, shaping its economy, culture, and way of life. Today, its stone houses, terraced fields, and enduring traditions stand as a testament to the rich heritage and history of Hvar’s lavender industry.
Malo Grablje is a hauntingly beautiful abandoned village on Hvar Island, often known as a “ghost village” due to its long history of depopulation. Once a lively rural community, it was gradually left behind as residents moved elsewhere in search of better opportunities, leaving behind stone houses and quiet, winding streets that still echo with the memory of everyday island life. Today, surrounded by untouched nature and silence, it stands as a powerful and atmospheric reminder of the island’s past and cultural heritage.
Milna is a picturesque seaside village on Hvar Island, known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear Adriatic waters. Surrounded by lush greenery and peaceful coves, it offers a relaxed atmosphere perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and escaping the crowds. With its charming waterfront, traditional taverns, and stunning sunsets, Milna is a hidden gem for a tranquil coastal experience.
Fortica, also known as Španjola Fortress, sits high above the town of Hvar and offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Pakleni Islands and the Adriatic Sea. Built in the 16th century during Venetian rule, it served as a defensive stronghold protecting the town from invasions and pirate attacks. Today, it is one of Hvar’s most iconic landmarks, blending rich history with breathtaking scenery and a glimpse into the island’s strategic past. (we are not entering the fortress just stopping for a view)

If you want to learn a little bit about Hvar beyond the port/party experience, this is a great way to understand the history and culture of the people. Being in a tuk tuk meant we could enjoy the breeze, the smells of lavender, and the sounds of nature. Ending at the fortress gave us some amazing views of the port and surrounding area. Our guide, Luka, was really informative and passionate. He answered all our questions and made the experience a wonderful one for us. We are happy to support this business and we highly recommend it!
Very interesting comfortables ride Fun experience I would definitely bring a water or something to drink other than that. It was wonderful.
Really enjoyed the experience. Learned about the history and lavender making of the island. Unique experience.

Petar is a great guide. We learned so much about Hvar and the lovely towns around the island. We learned about the evolving industries and the lavender fields and people that care for the land.
This was a highlight of Hvar! Luka was fantastic! Having grown up on the island, he had such s depth of knowledge about the island. The tuk tuk was great and all the stops were amazing. We would have never seen so much of the island or learned so much without this great outing. I can’t give Luka enough stars…. He also told us about growing up here and living Hand Island… It was an amazing outing. We did the 530 which was perfect. I had amazing sunset views of the city. I he’s unrecommended a restaurant for dinner though is fantastic… I can’t recommend this enough.
