This guide is fantastic! It’s clear, simple, and easy to follow. It saved me a lot of time and helped me to get to know Hyderabad history main points.
Horrible experience. Compelete waste of money. Some college kid showed up who knew zero historical facts. I and my cousin were scammed
Ok could have had more history about the markets and streets. I couldn’t always hear or catch what our guide was saying. I thought we’d see more from the streets rather than spend half our time in the Palace
Alok was am amazing tour guide! He had great knowledge of the sites we saw! His English was excellent. He also took us for tea and snacks which was lovely. Highly recommended Alok and this tour!
I took the 2 hour walking tour of the old city with Alok Kumar and it was absolutely brilliant! I am from England, visiting a friend from university in Hyderabad, and attended this tour by myself. Alok was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable and gave me lots of history and information about this part of Hyderabad. We walked from the Salar Jung museum through the market streets to Chowmahalla palace where the tour ended, and even went up the Charminar and tasted some Iranian tea and biscuits which were delicious! Alok made me feel very safe and helped me navigate the busy market streets of the old city! This way I was able to explore this area despite travelling by myself today. I would recommend him as a tour guide to anyone! Thank you very much!
I turned up at the museum (meeting point) on time, to find no guide waiting for me. On contacting the company, it turned out there were in fact no guides available for the tour and they made a plan to re-schedule to 10:30am. The tour itself was lacking in any detailed information about the rich history of Charminar and the mosque, which we were told we could not go into as it was Friday and prayer time. Despite this, the guide tried to push his way through, with me in tow, making for a very awkward situation and some very unhappy guards. Only after I insisted that we leave, due to pleas from the security guards, did the guide give in. The tour only lasted 45 minutes, having been sold as a 2 hour trip. Overall, not satisfactory and not worth the money at all.
I like to book a walking tour in a new city to help get my bearings & learn some local knowledge. Yours in UK/Europe for 2-3 hours are between £10-£20 so I was very surprised that Hyderabad tours were £30-£100 per person & very pleased I found this tour which was approx £14 per person plus cost of entering venues. We were assisted by Alok who also took us to 2 great food & drink places & kindly answered by questions about his life in India.
Fantastic tour lead by our very knowledgeable guide Madhu. He took his time to explain things and his English was excellent. He communicated very well before the tour to let us know exactly where to meet him. He even took us for a cup of chai to his favourite place and most importantly, stopped us being hassled by any one offering tours, gifts or otherwise.
