Helsinki day cruise from Tallinn (independent visit)

Great experience, easy to check-in automatically inside the Tallin passanger terminal D.

The ship is brand new, plenty of restaurant and bars, a beautiful coven garden and comfortable seats. Really great staff and great deals on board!

Terminal very easy to find from Tallinn, remember what port you arrive at in Helsinki, as there are a few. Sailed on the Megastar and it was incredible, many restaurants and shops felt more like a cruise.

Just reviewing the cruise alone both the terminals in Tallin & Helsinki were spacious, clean and easy to navigate. Had a coffee shop to get refreshments while you waiting to board. Boarding was organised and people boarded in an orderly fashion. There was help for passangers that needed assistance, with lifts available to get you up to the boarding level. Once onboard the ship you have several different decks to choose from. The catering was excelent. From basic food choices to fine dining experiences depending on time of travel. The seating differed slightly on the different decks. There were seats where you could relax and recline to get some sleep. On the one deck you had a vast shopping store where you could purchase almost anything. For the smokers there was a dedicated smoking area away from the rest of the passangers. These ships not only carried people but cars, vans & lorries. And once docked the loading & unloading of the vechicles was very quick. For only a 2 hour crossing these ships are well equiped and the staff look after them well. But not only do the staff take pride in there ship but they look after there passangers just as well. As we passengers help keep then in a job and the business a float.

A fantastic experience! The crossing was super comfortable and flew by! The ship is equipped with absolutely everything you need: bars, restaurants, casinos, etc. IMPORTANT: boarding closes 20 minutes BEFORE departure. After that, you can no longer board the ship. This was NOT made clear enough on the website. I arrived just in the nick of time and was told that if I’d been a minute later, I wouldn’t have been able to board the ship. This really needs to be highlighted.

Great experience but please be there 45 to 1 hour before. Boarding is 20 min before departure. And sometimes, it is not easy to find the Gate.

We chose this ferry service for its reliability and simple booking procedure and weren't disappointed. Departing ferry terminal D you will be provided with a booking ref and security code by trip advisor which you need to put into one of the many check in machines to obtain your tickets before sailing. You may then walk the short distance to the embarkation lounge. The ferry is modern, well equipped with lots of seating, shops and cafes. The journey takes around 2hours and was very calm. You arrive at the Helsinki West pier. On arrival there was no security/border check this time. There are trams and buses to the centre which can be paid for on the vehicle. The return ferry departed on time and check in was simple.

Great experience overall. Can be clearer on where and how to get boarding ticket in Tallinn eg which floor which counter looking for who.

Excellent ferry. From the Trip Advisor instructions you need the reference and PIN number to access the tickets at the terminal (not really clear on the information provided). Make sure you get there early as the gates close 15 mins before the departure time.
