The Manzana de las Luces is a historic block in Buenos Aires that houses the National College of Buenos Aires, the Church of San Ignacio and other historic buildings. It was an important center of culture and learning in colonial times and still symbolizes education and knowledge.
Officially known as the Casa de Gobierno, the Casa Rosada or Pink House in English is the executive office of the President of Argentina. It’s considered one of the most symbolic buildings in Buenos Aires and has been declared a National Historic Monument. The Casa Rosada contains a museum relating to former presidents of Argentina.
During the colonial era the Cabildo de Buenos Aires was used as the seat of the town council. Today the Cabildo houses a museum called the National Museum of the Cabildo and the May Revolution in which 18th century artifacts such as clothes, jewelry and paintings are on display.
