Pickup Locations & Times
Cruise Ship passengers, we will pick you up from the Port of Hilo - Terminal 1 at the prearranged pick up area. Please look for the guide with the sign for “Malahini Tours”. Hotel Guests - We will meet you in the Valet/Lobby area. Airport Guests - We will meet you at the Tour/Shuttle Service Pick up/parking area.

Our guide/driver Dan was excellent. He was very informative about the legends and history of the place and the island. He knew all the spots to go to in order to see the volcanoes. Unfortunately, we arrived just one day short of the 50th eruption event :( I'm still glad we went as it was on my bucket list of things to do in Hawaii.

Kimo was a great guide! He was very knowledgeable and personable. He gave clear directions of where to go to get the best views. We had a nice small group which made things easier. As we are traveling on cruise he helped to make sure we made it back in time for our departure. The company gave great directions for a meeting point. They changed the time from 9am to 8am and didn’t inform me of it, I showed our guide that our tickets still said 9am, so we almost lost our excursion because of this but our sweet guide did not leave without us and called me to inform of the change and we left by 8:20am. She said Viator should have sent me the change and I received nothing.

A very good trip. Although pick up was confusing. The tour rep just held a sign up which wasn’t the company we were looking for. It would be better to print off the names of people and hold that up. But apart from that is was a very nice trip. Got us back to the ship on time.

In addition to this being a 'must see', tour on the big island, that included not only the Volcano and lava tube, but beautiful waterfalls and gardens, our driver and tour guide, Kimo, was the best we have ever met. We highly recommend this tour.
