Itinerary
You will enter the house that the San Diego Ghost Hunters, tell us is currently the "most active", location in SD. Even more active then the more famous ones. First floor and courtyard entry is included! This is the house where people would come to die as it was a hospital of sorts with a dramatic history. Our guests have experienced being pushed around the house with a hand on their back when there is no one behind them and catching mysterious shapes on camera, lots of orbs here as well. Bring your camera! While we can't employ ghost or guarantee something will happen, things can and will occur we just don't know when.

You will go on the premise of the Villa, a museum that is closed at night. Sometimes we go into the first floor drawing room and lobby. Get lucky! The staff here considers it to be Enchanted. But don't be fooled, if you read our reviews, this location is one of many people's top, our presentation there is very well received and plus lots of eerie things have been captured by our guest lens. You will see this location, which is haunted by 2 people who once lived there. Strangely enough, they say, it is the first person to live in the house and the last to live in the Villa Montezuma. Perhaps you will hear music from beyond or see a haunted artifact move.
You will see the Whaley House. NO GHOST TOUR GOES INTO THE HOUSE. The Whaley House is ran by a massive national corporation and it is a money printing machine for them. They have changed the history, layout and killed the spirits of the house in the interest of profit (ask any local ghost hunter and they'll tell you since the rearrangement activity is low or artificial). What was an amazing location is now a marketing machine. Still it does have history. We do the original history at the location (not inside), not the corporate rewrite. Find out how it all began with Yankee Jim and it's other doomed occupants. Get the, for lack of a better word, "Greatest Hits" tales at this location.
What is a haunted tour without a graveyard? You will enter this location and be told the stories among the tombstones. Back to where it all began. Old Town San Diego, El Campo Santo Cemetery has a long history of the macabre. Ghosts there are disturbed as their burial grounds have been disturbed many times. Strange figures still appear seemingly to glow and float above the ground.

If for some reason it looks like the tour will not go (this is rare but does occasionally happen), we will personally call you with a tour update 2-3 hours before your tour is set to go. If your tour does not go, again very rare, we will refund you or move you to another date. Feel free to call or email us with any questions or if you just want an update on how many have signed up so far. If we don't pick up immediately we will get back to you shortly.

- If you are driving, please show up early to get parking.
- Service animals are allowed provided they are small, can be carried in their crate and do not disturb the other attendees. If you have a larger animal like a German Sheppard you would need to purchase an additional seat, potentially crate the animal and will not be able to enter some of the locations as there are antique and very valuable, fragile historic artifacts in them.

Just silly. Not even worth the time to describe it. Just walking around while someone shares silly stories about muddled history.
Is this Crystal McC? If so legit review (not a competitor paying for negative vague reviews). I sent you the text about having a strong sense of humor - why didn't you just cancel? We call out not going without it. Why hurt us when we tried to warn you off in several places. Definitely people bring a sense of humor please we'd rather you didn't go. I really try to scare people off for the humor part and the lack of jump scares clowns and monster there are none. There is energy but you have to get very lucky. The history is historian verify - some of our locations make us verify our information with them. It is a bus tour you are reviewing not just walking around. I am so sorry you went. In the future go with the national companies and stayed away from the local tours. Nationals have similar stories in many towns, sure they change names but you can depend on there perfomance to be homogenized safe and humorless (most). Anyone reading this if you have a less then 4 star experience reach out to me directly with constructive feedback for an up to 3 people likely full refund. We stand behind our tours. I just don't know what else I could have done to stop Crystal from going. Have a sense of humor ;)
Kat was an amazing guide! Thanks for a fun evening taking to and touching ghosts! <3
Most excellent! She is an investigator for sure :)
This was a great tour! I learned a lot of history and we were able to go into certain places that other tours do not have access to. Archie was a great guide and the jokes made along the way kept us entertained! My only "recommendation" for the actual tour company would be to invest on a small microphone of sorts to use when on the bus. The groups are small and intimate but being at the back of the bus right under the AC made it harder to hear some of the things Archie was explaining as we traveled through the town and over the freeway. I'm sure I could've asked him to speak up, but his volume was completely fine when the bus was either not in motion or when off of it. I also want to mention parking. There are several options for paid and free parking in a map they provide you. In hindsight, I would've paid for parking closer to the starting/ending location, but opted for the closest free lot to the meet up, which was just 2 blocks over. At the beginning of the tour this was not an issue as many people are parked here and the streets are lively in Old Town San Diego. At the end of the tour, we were free to explore the cemetery as long as we wanted and able to just depart when we were ready. I stayed behind for just a few extra minutes along with another family and group of 2, but when I left (essentially with the family of 3 and just prior to the 2 guys), I didn't think to ask where they were parked, but noticed the family go in one direction and the guys to a car just on the street. I ended up walking alone back to my car in an area that was EMPTY and desolate, as it was now after 11p and everything was closed. The ONLY person I came across was someone sleeping on the sidewalk, and 2 people coming out of the way back under the Old Town arch that may have been vendors or last minute visitors. I always pay attention to my surroundings but did have an incredibly uncomfortable feeling being a smaller frame girl walking several blocks alone, especially after seeing a larger police/security presence on arrival. This is in no way the tour company's responsibility, and we are all adults, but feel strongly about needing to mention this so others are aware. The tour ends when everything is closed up and single/smaller groups may want to consider parking closer to the meeting spot, making friends with the group to walk together/drive the others' to their car, or maybe the tour company can find a way to have the city to provide security in the area for a little bit once the tour ends. Just my suggestions based on my experience but would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone!
Thanks passing this on to Archie :) All the hosts have the option to use the busses PA system. Up to them to use it - I am sending him the training video on it too just in case. Really appreciate the constructive feedback. CA towns in general are nice year round and attact longtime stayers so you'll get that. I have not heard of an incident in Old Town in forever (outside of a vandalism a bit ago) but yes best to be aware for sure and your right we can't control that. Sounds advice. Gratitude.
Wasnt scary mostly information a lot of talking, they said hotels were haunted but we couldn’t go in it
Anyone reading this if you have a less then 5 star experience just rerach out to me directly and give some constructive feedback for a likely full refund up to 3 people. We are different then out national competitors. We stand behind our tours - we are the only remaining local ghost tour operator in SD. We do not pay for reviews positive or negative (though you should see how many companies want us to pay them for reviews positive for us or bashing our competitors, verified reviews too they say). Please read some of our other reivews for example just at a glance one two days ago contradicts what Ben is saying. All real I am assuming Ben is real too. That said the tour is not for everyone. Don't expect to be scared, there are no clowns or monsters jumping out at you. You do get access to the hotel, the house, the graveyard and the Villa. I really try to get in front of people that want it scary must have missed Ben - sorry about that brother - not scary we do not have any vicious spirits on the tour. There is energy but it more offsetting or spooky then scary.
I had the great pleasure to experience this tour yesterday evening with Dante as our guide. This is easily the best tour I’ve been on in any genre or location. Although I was expecting the creepy ghost stories and locations (which were plentiful), the way Dante also weaves in historical information, current San Diego events, geography, AND a large dose of humor and charm is what made this tour stand out for me. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in ghosts and/or learning more about San Diego, and especially the Wild West period of the 1800s. This tour is also special, because we entered two of the haunted buildings on our tour, while we saw other ghost tours forced to stand outside on the sidewalk.
Thanks Joshua. I just passed this on to Dante he is delighted. Hopefully you got to go in the Villa and Graveyard as well as the other two locations (assuming you were on the bus - that one goes into 4 locations, the gaslamp walking goes into 2). Gratitude!
The tour was excellent with beautiful historic landmarks, a dose of comedy and some fun spooky history. We’d definitely recommend it to friends and family. Our tour guide Cowboy Pete was a hoot and very good at his guide role.
Thanks Ryan!
Our tour was a fun and informative mix of history and mystery. Dante and Clara were knowledgeable, funny and obviously enjoy giving tours. This was one of the best Ghost Tours we’ve been on. Highly recommend!
Thank you passing it on to both :)
Fun and informative. Cowboy Pete made it fun. The tour covered a lot more area of San Diego than we expected, which was nice.
Thank you passing it on! :)
Adele was our tour guide, and she was very energetic and entertaining! The group learned quite a bit about the history of the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter as well as interesting ghost sightings and hauntings. I recommend taking this tour!
Thanks! Pasing this on to Adele means the world
It was amazing experience and awesome
:)
