Had an awesome couple of hours with William. Walked through the old quarter seeing the main sights, had a coffee at Train Street as the train went past (William even found a flattened bottle cap - great free souvenir). Best thing was the insight into Vietnamese culture which William was happy to share with me. Highly recommend this tour
“William” our tour guide had 1 job: to take us to Train Street to experience the passing of the train while having a drink at a track side cafe. After taking us on an hour and half walking tour of the Old Quarter, the Lake, Church and Markets, we arrived 5 minute late to Train Street and only had a fleeting view of the train as it disappeared on its journey to the cafe area. We then went to the cafe, had a couple of free beers by way if compensation and took several photos of the area after the event. Oh, and it was advertised to include a food tour, thinking we’d be tasting food on the tour. But No. Waste of time and money!
Dear Peter, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few points regarding this tour: Tour itinerary and meeting point This experience is designed as a walking tour combining highlights of Hanoi Old Quarter with the Train Street visit. The itinerary clearly includes walking through the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake area, church, and local streets before arriving at Train Street. The meeting point is also stated in advance in the booking details. Train Street experience Our guide’s main responsibility is not only to escort guests to Train Street, but also to provide a guided walking experience around Hanoi before the train viewing. On this day, due to timing factors and walking pace, the group arrived shortly after the train had passed. We understand this was disappointing, especially if seeing the train pass was your main priority. To make up for this inconvenience, our guide arranged complimentary beers for your group in addition to the included drink at the Train Street café. Food inclusion The tour includes one complimentary drink per guest at the Train Street café. This is stated clearly in the itinerary. This is not a street food tasting tour, despite the tour including walking through food and market areas. We appreciate your comments, as they help us improve communication and guest expectations. We will review how we explain the itinerary at the start of the tour to ensure guests understand the walking route, inclusions, and timing for the train schedule more clearly. Thank you again for your feedback. Best regards, Rose
Our guide William was wonderful, very friendly and informative.
This tour was epic! William was amazing. On top of going to train street, he took me to all the tourist and community locations in Hanoi. Loved every bit of it.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had no problem moving the time to be more accommodating to us! He made sure to address all our concerns and even treated us to drinks afterwards.
Tailored to what we wanted to see and know about the people and culture of Hanoi.
Tom was amazing as tour guide, he explained everything in detail and was chill person. He came on time and was ok with everything we requested. The service from viator was top notch.
