07:15 – 07:45 Pick you up from your hotel or private address to travel around Hanoi.
08:00 Explore the local market and learn about Vietnamese culture by observing the daily lives of local people.
08:30 Visit a Hanoi icon in all senses: the Long Bien Bridge, formerly known as the Paul Doumer Bridge, was one of the greatest engineering accomplishments of the French colony and a showpiece of colonial infrastructure. In the Vietnam War, it became a symbol of Hanoi’s resistance to relentless US bombing.
09:00 Visit the Mausoleum and the stilt house garden, the final resting place of the Vietnam national hero, President Ho Chi Minh, where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969.
Leave the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and then come to visit the Temple of Literature, which was concerned as the very first university in Vietnam where worship was offered to Confucius, the founder of Confucianism, the main platform of social morals and culture throughout many feudal dynasties in Vietnam.
12:00 - 13:30 Enjoy a special lunch with the local cuisine featuring the yin-yang balance of the Asian culture.
14:00 Visit the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnology. This superb museum showcases the depth of Vietnamese cultural diversity with an astounding collection of 15,000 artifacts gathered from throughout Vietnam.
15:30 Leave the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnology; a limousine bus will take you to the Hoa Lo Prison Relic, one of the five scariest places in Southeast Asia. You will see how the French tortured political prisoners and the efforts of Vietnamese political prisoners during their stay here, as well as American pilots who had been shot down from 1964 to 1973, who called this prison "Hanoi Hilton Hotel". McCain, a U.S. senator, was also detained here until 1973.
17:00 Explore the Old Quarter in 1 hour, cruise through the iconic 36 Streets on a cyclo, a traditional three-wheeled bicycle taxi, and pass by iconic landmarks such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market, St. Joseph's Cathedral, and Hanoi Opera House. Immerse yourself in the colorful local culture.
18:00 – 18:30 Drop-off at your hotel or private address in Hanoi. Trip ends.

I did a group tour with Tom as my guide. Turns out I was the only one on the tour (low season) so I got Tom to myself. He was excellent! I saw and did more in one day than I even thought possible. His command of English is excellent and he was able to answer all my questions. He made it such a great day.
