Hanoi: 7 Tasting Street Food Walking Tour and Train Street

A very nice tour! Lots of tasty snacks eaten with interesting stories from our guide Te. Definitely recommended for someone who wants to discover more culture in Hanoi.

Delicious way to explore the city, and great for families too — our 6 year old had no trouble keeping up! Tried banh mi, bun cha, noodles, Vietnamese pancakes, and coconut mango ice cream at great local spots through the Old Quarter. Train Street was a highlight — the train passed right by, incredibly close to the houses and cafes lining the tracks. Friendly, knowledgeable guide, well-paced tour. Highly recommend for families and foodies alike!

We booked a private food tour (family of three, with a 9yr old). Our guide, Vy, was terrific. She based the whole tour on our tastes and pace, even adjusting in order to get to Train Street a bit early to ensure a great spot. Vy also helped us take some family photos and her explanations of the food and cuisine were perfect. We ended the tour feeling full and fulfilled! We highly recommend her!

We had a blast with our most excellent and fun guide. Minh!!! Every stop was a yummy new experience and the information he shared with us just added to experience. Even just the walking through old town with someone who knew where they were going and how to navigate through all the traffic was an adventure!! Train Street topped off the day!!! We had front row seats and our choice of coffee drinks to enjoy the fun of a close encounter with a Vietnamese train!! Great day! Don't miss the fun!

Tee welcomed us with open arms and told us a lot about Hanoi and co. The foodspots were all very delicious, we liked the bun cha the best. Really great we found the tea could even speak a little German. If we could, we'd do another tour with him.

We had a great time doing this tour. It supposed to be a group tour but only mmmy wife and I showed up so we get kind a private. Tee was our guide, a super nice guy, we talked a lot. He took us in some nice spots to try the real street food and demonstrated strong knowledge and fun facts about the food and the culture. If you're looking for have a great time I recommend this tour!

My friend and I had the best experience with Chip! We loved being able to try all of the local spots & she was so knowledgeable, answering all of our questions. The tour never felt rushed, and there was so much variety! She was also very mindful of my friend’s allergies & shared some other spots that we were able to try over the next few days. It was a great way to see the city on our first night. Can’t recommend enough!

Amazing variety of food and sights and sounds. Minh was delightful and informative. We sampled such a wide variety of foods at local establishments we probably wouldn’t have brave enough to visit on our own. Highly recommended.

Excellent tour. Our guide was Emily and she was fantastic. She gave us a real insight into the food and how to eat it. She was so kind and helpful and gave us lots of other tips for during our stay. Would recommend that you do tour at beginning of stay so that you can then enjoy all the food in Hanoi with the knowledge from the tour. The food we tried was all delicious and plentiful amounts!

I just did this food tour in Hanoi with Minh and it was amazing from start to finish. I ended up being the only person so it turned into a private tour. Minh, who grew up in Hanoi, was personable, funny, and knew so much about the food and the city. We tried six incredible dishes, each one better than the last plus had a drink right by the train tracks, watching the train pass just inches from the table—such a cool, unforgettable moment. It felt like hanging out with a friend who just happens to know all the best hidden spots. I honestly can’t recommend it enough. If I’m ever back in Hanoi, I’m doing this tour again.
