Hanoi 1 Day Motorbike Tours Countryside

I did the 1-day Hanoi tour and it was so amazing. It was exactly what I was looking for. I am a solo traveler and I knew I wanted to ride a motorbike in Hanoi. But I am inexperienced and did not want to do it on my own. I found Frank and so glad I did. I met Frank at 8:30am and he spent two hours giving me lessons on how to ride a semi-automatic motorbike and I learned so much. After that I drove my own bike and followed Frank around the Hanoi countryside. We stopped a couple times for tea and had lunch and saw some great scenery and I felt very safe having Frank as a guide, who speaks great English. I often felt like I was in a scene in a movie, zipping down remote country roads in Vietnam. I can’t wait to go to Vietnam again hire Frank for a longer tour.

My time with Frank was outstanding. I had rode scooters before in Indonesia but was never too confident and Frank spent one on one time with me teaching me how to use a semi automatic motorbike. After an awesome lesson, he took me around the smaller villages, rivers, and markets near Hanoi and was extremely patient and positive. We shared tea and amazing local food and he gave me a local experience on a bike that I will never forget. I felt confident enough to drive off road and in Hanoi traffic. After the day, we shared beer and fruit. I was nervous about the Ha Giang loop but feel confident to do it by myself and explore Vietnam on a motorbike wherever I go. Would 100% recommend!

Frank kindly combined the motorcycle lesson and one day countryside tour on account of potential storm the following day. I had never ridden a motorbike before and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience so much! He was very patient and clear with his instruction. You can tell how passionate he is. We stopped off at some beautiful off the beaten track sites in the countryside where I was the only foreign tourist. It was amazing to be able to experience this! Frank also brought me out to meet some of his close friends which was really fun. He even offered to do a bespoke last minute tour the whole way from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City which sadly didn’t fit with my plans for this trip, but I am sure it would have been equally great!

If you’re in Hanoi and want to learn how to ride motorbikes, this is the place to come! Frank and his wife Moon are incredibly responsive and helpful. They fitted me in at the last minute with a 1-1 lesson which I took prior to riding the Ha Giang loop and Moon also took me for some great Vietnamese food at a local spot.

This is my second time booking a trip from Frank, the first time was back in 2019. This year, I went with Frank for a manual motorbike lesson and a 2D1N trip to Ninh Binh and hang mau cave. Frank is a patient, helpful teacher and tour-guide who is very passionate about motorbikes. He was always there to ensure that I'm riding on the roads safely and is well-versed with his knowledge. With his company, I was able to enjoy a safe road trip, saw many beautiful views of Ninh Binh and hang mau cave and was introduced to various different Vietnamese cuisines and culture. Thank you Frank for this wonderful experience!

In the words of Anthony Bourdain, “One of the great joys of life is riding a scooter through Vietnam.” If you’re looking to experience this (while keeping safety in mind) then you’ve found the right place. After a super helpful and informative motorbike lesson, Frank lead me on an unforgettable adventure around the countryside of Hanoi by motorbike! It was a truly unique opportunity to see how locals live outside of the city. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hanoi!!

We’ve just finished a two week self guided tour of Vietnam covering 2,209 km on two of Frank’s XR150s. I very rarely leave reviews, but Frank deserves every bit of praise I can lay on the guy. After some fishing about I contacted him and he instantly video called back and showed me around his outfit, I could see the quality of the bikes/chains and tyres - having ridden off road this guy knows what he’s doing. He gives spare oil, tubes, brake pads etc. He gives back your deposit without even looking at the bikes!!!! He’s available on line 24/7 for any problems or route queries. He even came out on Tet (new year) when everyone was closed, to get us started. I would never normally say this, but Frank is 100% reliable and if he can keep it up he’ll have one helluva business. Thanks Frank, it was a truly brilliant trip.

I messaged Frank one morning, he replied to my inquiry about wanting to go see the countryside that day, and the next morning I showed up to his garage to go for a ride. Driving in Hanoi is an incredible experience. When Frank got on the bike, he just went, and I followed after him, swerving in and out of traffic as we made our way out to a Vietnamese farm and village outside of Hanoi. The trip was everything I had hoped for and more--and Frank was a great host. I enjoyed postulating on the best approaches in the pursuit of happiness with Frank as we hung out by the flower market in the village and hearing Frank's metaphor of learning to ride a motorcycle in Hanoi--if you can do it there--you can do it anywhere. In the single day we: - Visited a small scale pottery manufacturing plant where several women painted the pottery every day. - Walked around various markets - Visited a clementine tree farm, a tree used during Tet in family homes - Had Bun Cha and Tea I enjoyed proving my own in the Hanoi traffic and spending the day talking to Frank about all aspects of life. Frank definitely knows how to enjoy it!

Frank was amazing! I’m probably the worst student he’s ever had but he’s so so patient and very understanding. My initial communication with Frank was smooth and informative - he listened to what I’m looking for and he booked me in straight away. I did a 1 to 1 session. I was staying in Vietnam for couple of months and I wanted to learn to ride a scooter in a safely manner and plus the best way to get around Vietnam is via scooter/motorbike. Meeting Frank was sucha joy! He’s super friendly and he knew what I needed to learn and focused on that during the session. I nearly gave up but he was encouraging and supportive and I managed to learn all the basic and even drove us back to the garage! He even sent me a cool edited video of our session! So whatever level you’re in from complete beginner to advanced and want to learn to ride scooters, semi, manual etc - Frank is your dude! I mean, if I managed to do it then everyone can!
