Tour begins in the heart of Hamburg’s Old Town, at the Rathausmarkt.
Admire the richly decorated Neo-Renaissance Town Hall and Alsterarkaden, the 19th-century Venetian-style shopping arcade along the waterfront of one of Hamburg’s thousands of rivers and canals.
Take a stroll towards the Thalia Theater while listening to the city's ascinating history, from the medieval Hanseatic League, through a free imperial city, to a renowned industrial center.
Tour will be at Chilehouse, the 1922 brick expressionist building shaped like an ocean liner.
Extend the walking route to Speicherstadt - the ‘City of Warehouses. It is the largest warehouse district in the world where the buildings stand on timber-pile foundations and oak logs above the water canals. The unique architecture and views are so good that the district became the first site in Hamburg to be awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage site.
