Overflow, dolphins were hunted rather than snorkeling with them in peace. Sandbar was not possible due to high tide. It's not worth getting up at 6 a.m. for that.
We had the absolute pleasure of having Moshi as our guide for our Zanzibar excursions, and he made our trips truly unforgettable! Moshi's deep knowledge of the island, coupled with his warm and friendly demeanor, made every moment special.
The destination is great - but completely overcrowded. Even at the parking lot there is chaos due to the many taxi buses. There are well over 100 boats on the road at the moment, all looking for dolphins in the same place. As soon as a fin is spotted, dozens of boats race off, close together. Occasionally snorkelers jump into the water between the moving boats, very dangerous. We rush with all the other boats after the animals that keep appearing, which are obviously swimming away from us. We ask them to stop this and continue snorkeling. There is a lot to see - but boats keep driving right through countless snorkelers. Our guide swims with us along the reef and keeps an eye on us. We get fresh fruit on the boat. We advise against it - great place, completely overcrowded and sometimes dangerous.
Great morning with Moshi (+255 627 449 934). We went to Mnembe island to swim in the coral. While we were there dolphins passed by and Moshi invited us to swim with them even though this wasn’t agreed on before hand. He is very friendly and provided a great service. Would recommend to anyone visiting Matembwe beach.
Beautiful experience at Mnemba Atoll, we swam with dolphins in the surrounding waters. Snorkeling, there are lots of tropical fish, too bad the reef is very defaced. On the strip of white sand where you stop to swim and take some pictures the beach boys offer fresh fruit of all kinds. Fantastic!
Josef was our guide. He showed up on time to take us on the snorkeling trip. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Flexible with our schedule so that we could spend as much or as little time as we wanted at the sites we went to. The Indian Ocean water and the atoll were beautiful.
The tour is not worth it. The turtles are no longer in the place of the “reef”. There is also no real reef, so there are not a lot of colorful fish in the area. The guide doesn't really want to release information either. The fruit was great.
We had a wonderful excursion around Matemwe for a half day: 2 snorkeling sites with beautiful fish and corals around Mnemba Island, a excursion to a sandbank that emerges at low tide only (sandbank) and finally a seafood and fish BBQ on the white sandy beach of Muyuni. Our guide to Matemwe: Ali B. Faki also offers other activities . Contact him to find out more.
Great to do absolutely. It's the aquarium. Exceptional site. Oh, great. Exceptional site. I didn't have to provide any equipment they're lending it to you. Superb to do absolutely. It's the aquarium. The driver was unfortunately 40 minutes late, after about half the trip our tour guide got in the car, he was very friendly, he spoke very good English, he told us a lot about Zanzibar during the rest of the trip and of course everything we wanted to know. After that we took a boat to the island of Mnemba (you are not allowed to enter), we had a lot of time for snorkeling, got fresh fruit and water in between. Lots of fish, lots of corals. Afterwards we drove on to a wonderful sandbar, fantastic water! Due to the driver's delay not 5 stars.
