Itinerary
Home to a 17th-century church, the Cathedrale Sainte-Reparate, and around the corner from our favorite wine merchant!
Across from the iconic Opera house of Nice lives, the oldest shop in Nice established in 1820. We will stop in for some sampling while discussing the historical relevance of the family business.
We will then hop on the tram and make our way to the true local market of Nice and do as the locals do, sample our way through the production of the season. We will visit our favorite Socca shop and even take in a drink at the farmer's and merchant's favorite watering hole.
We will make our way to a restaurant for a lunch tasting and of course, some chilled local rose! We will then continue our tour visiting an olive oil producer and finish with a sweet treat!

Thank you Ally! What fantastic tour. Walking tour through old town taste different local food and history of the area. Highly recommend. Not strenuous great food and culture.
Fabulous food tour in Nice! Ally was wonderful. We tried all the amazing food Nice has to offer, from espresso to oysters on the half shell to gelato. And we learned lots of cool facts about the history of Nice along the way. Ally was knowledgeable, interesting and a great story teller. She was recommended to us and we will recommend her to others!
What an amazing day. Sofia was awesome. The food was awesome. We got to see so much of the city and try so many different foods and drinks. It is a great and fun way to see Nice on a day trip.
Janelle was a highly organized and engaging tour guide! She brought us to off the beaten path locations and we sampled truly authentic food from Nice! We enjoyed a sweet treat, espresso, glass of rose, oysters, pastis socca, gelato, and many tasty dishes at a restaurant while we sipped rose. The 4 hours went by quickly and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this food tour!
It was a French holiday so the trams weren't running but that didn't stop our tour guide, Ally, from going the extra mile and paying for us to take an Uber to Liberation Market. This is where the LOCALS go for their shopping and we appreciated her taking us there. She REALLY enjoys her job and it shows...we know this because she was so excited to buy everything she needed and then added on top extra items because they just sounded so good to her! For example, instead of trying just the regular fresh oysters at the fish market, she also decided on the spot that she would order the very expensive ones because she wanted us to have the experience of trying them...and we were glad to have tried them (they were delicious and I don't like oysters). She set up a picnic of sorts right on the spot, in the middle of the market and created an experience that we would never had enjoyed on our own...not just trying new foods and (lots) of wine but also getting to feel the energy of the locals in action. We were also grateful for her extensive training in wine when she took us to a very old family run wine store to talk about wine-making in the area and pointed out her favorites based on taste and value. As an added bonus, she also gave us a little history tour of the parts of town that we walked through which was much appreciated. The finale at the restaurant where we ate a sit-down lunch was fantastic. She ordered a TON of food and we had so much to eat. We were grateful that we didn't eat any food before the tour that morning...we left with a full belly! This tour was recommended in a Rick Steve's book that we ordered before our trip and it was a little more money than another tour we almost selected...but we are SO happy that we spent a little more and had this amazing more cultivated food tour experience. We highly recommend others book it!
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Excellent food tour coupled with history and cultural information. Ally as tour guide is the best ! Organized , thoughtful and personable. She went out of her way for us !
I have been on several food tours in various European countries, but this one was the best by far. It was led by Ally, the company owner, and another employee Sofia, and both are very friendly and personable. They are both fluent in English, and I enjoyed several small side conversations with each during the course of our walking. The tour was well thought out and structured, and there was a great deal of interesting history as well as many courses of food. The guides put together a program that doesn't take you from restaurant to restaurant but introduces you to the food and drink of the region in a more complex way. We started off with rose wine (of which I am now a fan), snacks (dried fruits and candy) appetizers (baguette, cheese, salami, strawberries, an oyster), an aperitif (anise flavored which I liked), followed by a large sit-down lunch with more wine and gelato at the end. The guides took us to various outdoor markets and food stalls in old town Nice as well as in the more northern neighborhoods. We even rode the tram as a group which was paid for! That impressed me. In addition, Ally and Sofia brought along a small roll behind trolly with needed supplies such as paper cups, hand sanitizer, and baby wipes, and the trolly held some of the food which was bought on the way until we reached a nice place to sample it. We sanitized our hands often, which I appreciated. Ally has proficient knowledge of wine, and I learned several interesting facts from her. Our tour only had five participants which made it intimate and more fun in my opinion, but I think I heard that the groups max out at 12. Ally and Sofia made several good recommendations along the way for purchasing souvenirs and food products. The pace was enjoyable and not too fast, and I felt like I was having a food tour with friends. I would highly recommend anyone reading this review to book a food tour with this company as you will truly experience the food and drink of Nice and its region. Ally texted me prior to the tour and said, "bring your appetite" and she wasn't kidding. Any future food tours I take will be hard pressed to top this one.
Best guide & amazing food plus such interesting facts about France & Nice! Highly recommend! Liked we went to places locally owned
We had an exceptionally enjoyable and rich tour that included delicious local food and wine, a visit to the markets, history of both the region and its culinary traditions, and more. Highly recommend!
The tour was special. Allie was the best! We learned a little bit about history, food culture, and because of our guide we walked away with new friends. She was fun and personable. She was patient and kind. Her passion for food also made this tour amazing. I have been on food tours all over the world- it is my way of getting some background information, getting the lay of the land, trying new food, and meeting people. This tour included a few tram rides, food markets, restaurants, a wine store, a coffee stop, etc. can’t say enough wonderful things GO!!!! Worth every euro and minute. Give Allie my best!
